Ex auto to manual

Ok so a chick I work with rear-ended me yesterday afternoon, my EJ8 I just bought about 3 weeks ago is now totaled, I plan on getting enough money from her insurance company to buy one just a tad bit better then mine as far as mileage goes. Mine had 153999 at time of accident. The new prospect has 143xxx. My question is this: The new one is auto...I want 5spd. How much (more-or-less) would a tranny swap cost????? Any info would be great. Thanks.

alrighty.. i swapped auto ta manual.. i got a really good deal on some parts but heres what i paid..

trans (180k miles), starter, torque mount, top mount, flywheel, pedals, cluster, shift fork, slave cyl, master cyl, and ecu all for $200. (However i dont need the ECU and im selling it on ebay right now for $60) i also got the various flywheel and pressure plate 12pt bolts.

NAPA clutch kit- $140
Flywheel resurface (single step, 3 pins)- $46
shifter rods- $60 (ebay)
10w-30 for transmission- $16? ish

thats all that i can remember that i needed. It was an easy swap. i used the auto axles.

make note the you GREASE the throwout bearing and splines on input shaft othrewise you will be separating it a week later due to a rubbing noise you will get when engaged to to lack of grease.. i know somebody who forgot to do that (ME!)

I recommend actually geting the honda transmission fluid. Should be a bit better then just using oil. Especially if it already has 180k on it, should take care of it to get a long life outta it still. (Just my 2 cents)

(If anyone knows whether or not its actually better let me know, I've always been under the impression that it has cause I've had people who work at a chevy dealer actually tell me to go get the transmission fluid directly from honda. Plus I have seen a few things here where people have said to get it.)
