LOW TORQUE with new exhaust - any fix?

I have a 92 CX with a D15B7 and my entire exhaust fell off behind the cat. Instead of replacing it, I cut the downtube just below the header and clamped on my own 2" pipes. They go through a 2.25"inlet - 2.5"outlet cherry bomb muffler and straight out the side of the front bumper. I threw on a high flow air filter while I was at it and now it feels like there is no torque. The wheels used to spin very easily, now everything just feels bogged down. :???: Is there anything I can do to get that power back without ditching my custom exhaust? ie modded p06 ecu?

When I was driving around with almost no exhaust and just a cat, it seemed to perform well.

theres no torque because there is no exhaust velocity. Put a full exhaust on.

there's no restriction on the exhaust pretty much. So you don't have backpressure. Theres a sticky in the engine tech section that explains exhaust very well.

Ok, thanks to the people who were constructive. I don't care that I only have a d15b7... I care that it is less powerful than it was before.

Agree'd, we all know what were working with, and we can tell if the power is lower or higher than before. I have a b7 in my daily and its actually pretty quick with the full 2 1/4" exhaust thats on it now. Power:Weight helps.
