Give me opinions

So im running into a little bit of a problem and would like some opinions. I recently sold my EK hatch w/ a B20 swap (I will explain why later) well Im looking to get something a little newer, trying to stay around a 04-07 model. But i have a couple of options.
2006 Honda Civic Si
2006 Acura RSX
2007 Civic EX


Looking as a DD but also for work as a highway runner. and the reason their is an EX and a SI is cost differences.
Well lets leave it at these two. But here are but hesitations. I have heard horror stories about RSX's about being non dependable, shitty power ranges, and the only plus being the 6 speed, not to mention,l kinda loks "chick-ish" but as for the 06 and 07 civic's im just hesitant due to the 9th gens dropping within a year (2011 will drop in 2010)and that fact of how much the value will depreciate once they do. But the SI is nasty. what are your opinions or insights. Hating to get out of the 6th gens but will do what i have to for work, and it will allow me to gournd my current build and prepare it for the winter. LMK know what you think!

Well lets run through this list you have here. 2006 Si has a K20Z3 which produces 197hp. I dont know what the 8th gen Ex has, but why would you be debating between having an Ex or an Si? Take the Si, hands down. Now to the RSX. They stopped production in 2006, so I think you might have a hard time finding a 2007 model.

Take what you read on the internet with a grain of salt....I'll take the liberty of addressing the RSX issues since I actually own one. First, I have never heard of the RSX having a reputation for being "unreliable". If someone is saying that chances they are thrashing on it daily, at which point any car would become unreliable. The RSX is almost exactly the same as the Civic Si of similar years, they are sister cars, just the Civic lived on when the RSX was discontinued. At that point your choice of a Civic Si versus an RSX-S would be dependent upon cosmetics, insurance, and maintenance, which would be relatively the same. Shitty power range is also a new one for me; the K series engine is notorious for having the strongest vtec take over of just about any Honda engine. Perhaps the fact that vtec engages at 5800 RPM is what is being made reference to, in which case the crossover point is perfect for retaining fuel efficiency for normal driving and delivering power when you need it. If that's not good enough for you lower the vtec point with Hondata kpro. You're really comparing apples to apples: same car company, same engines, nearly the same cars in different skins.

i like your angle, and appreciate someone who owns one responding. how is your suspension setup, tight, quick, the si and the RSX are both running K series and the insurance is very comparable, but the RSX is a little lower due to the SI being red and the RSX beig discontinued.

Wouldn't the RSX and Integra be sister cars, since, after all, in Japan the RSX IS the Honda Integra?

When I moved from an EK to the RSX, I thought it was very stiff. Now that I've had it for quite a while I would say it's pretty much perfect for daily driving. Since it's a sporty car it's stiff enough to drive spirited, but it's smooth enough to not drive you crazy.

The RSX has the most potential in power, handling, braking, etc... And it's just as reliable as the other two cars...

Like said above, it's personal reference whether or not you like the SI chassis or the RSX chassis. The K20A2 would be a more superior motor than the Z3 due to some internal changes and blah blah blah.

jolly is the most thread jacking mofro ive ever met, but laughing my ass off. step sisters, cause one has that big booty, and the other has a nice heart, but both have faces i'd f**k. LMAO.

Man im loving the input. so as always i know the civic si has more upgrades. such as that sick ass JDM front clip conversion, but im just not liking the cut off bulldog type nose , and with the RSX being discontinued and the Z3........so im thinking you guys are leaning more towards the SI, but does noone else think the RSX is just a sexy beauty?

If I had to pick between any year/model Civic and any year/model RSX/integra, I would definitely pick the RSX no questions asked.
