I'm in the same boat as you. My car is my life. I've been pretty pissed at folks before, but the last thing I'd do is f**k with their car... That's a lot of money and time they spent trying ton get that thing. People are just f**ked in the head. Hope everything goes well! well a correct repair job would be to repaint the damage on door and quarter panel, and to repain/blend the fender. around $1000 sounds about right
i had a dent in my door costed about $1400. to get fixed (new door, repaint fender, door, qrtr panel)

don't worry... if you take it to a good shop that knows what they're doing (ie. NOT MAACO), it will match fine. i took mine to a really good shop and it came out great. thats why when i got a dent in my door they repainted the fender and quarter panel of my car to match it with the hood, roof, and trunk.
Agreed... Last year I got plowed by a Tahoe at a red light. Screwed up a lot of things on my car, Took it to the shop and they said they were gonna repaint everything but the front end. ( Hood, front bumper, quarter panels.) I was really worried how it would look, seeing as the car was 7 years old at the time. When they finally finished I was very surprised at the outcome. They'll do fine. Just gonna find a good shop.

OP as far as shops, go with whoever you feel comfortable with. Your insurance should actually have some shops they are contracted with that will provided a warranty, make the entire process faster and easier etc. imo I would go with one of them. then again, thats only if you choose to get the damages repaired. If you want the entire car painted 1. 1100 isnt a whole lot for a real nice job on the whole car, and 2. just make sure you research like crazy the shop before you commit (which I know you already know)

So I was an architect student and would constantly sleep in my car. One day a freaking guy parked next to me and open his door, hard! he freaking hit the side of my car with me in it! I woke up and was what the f**k! he closed his door and took off....o man, was i pissed off! I get off and what do i see? a freaking small little dent. So what did i do? I frekin got screw and scratched the s**t out of his door and all over his side. Revenge is sweet! especially when you know who did it!!!! I got pay back for all you people who ever came back and have noticed a dent or scratch on your vehicle.

I dunno. I'd be beyond pissed if someone f**ked with my car... Doing it back to them? Stooping to the same low level they did. But to each his own... I'd honestly just prefer someone man up and come to me with a problem before f**king with my car...
i still have factory paint (1997) and the entire driver side was repainted this past march. they matched it just fine.
*raises hand*......If you were my lady I'd fix it for you then give you a massive dicking to make you happy...
OP--
You must have really low ambitions w/ your life if you're willing to die for an old car. Hell, a car in general.
While it sucks this happened, this is what insurance is for...as you are now realizing. So it happened. Oh well. At least you're covered, so get it fixed, and move on.
As previously stated, find a good shop and everything will be fine.
