Wow, simply stuning. How's the wrapping working? I've heard mixed thoughts on the effectiveness of it.
I have not driven it yet much... still seems to get hot.. I'm a bit disappointed after all that work.. but has not yet hit the 220 check engine point so we will see.
Wow...
No.. thumbs down (see below)
Nice job with the wrapping! have you changed out the thermostat yet? and how olds the water pump? cant think of anything else that would make it overheat.....
Yes new thermostat (lower temp range) and water pump was new when I rebuilt the engine (2500 miles ago)
UPDATE: STORY TIME!
Stopped at a stop light, left blinker on. I begin making my turn... truck across is turning but I 'm paranoid they are not going to turn at the last second so I wind out 1st+2nd a bit. Dumb luck a cop is coming towards me once I made the turn... he hears my 3" exhaust+open dump tube blaring and rips a U-turn. My friend (riding shotgun) and I exchange nervous looks as we knew what was to happen. I turn onto the next street and wait for him. I gave my registration and all that jazz.. he couldn't write me up for speeding as I was not... though he asked why I was in a hurry and I told him the above incident (I don't think he cared about my fresh paint as much as I do).
He also asked if I had any points on my record to which I replied "I don't think so" (I had gotten a ticket for my license plate frame a few months ago as you all probably remember). I attempted to crack a few jokes with my buddy about the situation to ease my nerves; and he assured me I would get a warning or something. Eventually the cop came back and gave me a fix it or ticket for my "loud exhaust" (no s**t it's 3"). Best part was the cop said "I don't mind you kids modding your cars and all.. but these exhausts are loud and attract a lot of attention." So now I have to have a legal inspection site sign off on the paper and mail it to the police station, or put a stock exhaust on and take it to the station for the police to inspect. Did I mention I only have
5 days to do this!? We all know there's no way I'm putting a stock exhaust back on with all the work done. My dad said "give me the address to that station, it's not even loud, we're going down there". I do not see this one ending so well.
Time to ditch this car for something that's not a civic.. and a lot more.. stock?
