I can't believe people are buying salvaged title cars. They think they are getting a good deal because its cheap and the car looks like its in great condition. NO, first of all you dont know why it got the title salvaged and there is no way to prove exactly why its a salvaged. Also, after a car gets into an accident, it will never be the same anymore. Don't ask me why, but all kinds of s**t begins to deteriorate quicker, paint, engine parts, bearings, random stuff. I say its like a Domino Effect, one thing leads to another. Stay away.

we don't really care about your pointless nonsense that's becoming more an more annoying.

people buy them for one reason usually....work car. another reason is to build them when your plans include replacing more than half the car...

You are very incorrect. My car for instance was vandalized, and the insurance company "Border line totalled" it. Meaning I have a "rebuilt title". My car was exterior damage only, no collisions at all. I got it fixed at a reputable body shop. I can agree that other people might opt out on doing the top of the line finish work to save money. Which is why you say what you do. My case in many is an exception.

exactly, my car was stolen and stripped so it now has a rebuilt title as well. nothing was wrong with it that couldnt be fixed by myself.

its nothing more than just buying a straight used car from a private seller... same s**t happens, but its not a rebuilt title.

EASY KILLA, dont attack me. Its just a thread to get different opinions. you cant deny the fact that salvaged titles drop in value drastically. Fixing it up WILL NOT INCREASE s**t.

...and I dont go around saying your arguments are annoying, its just an opinion. Your argument is not for ALL people. People buy salvaged cars cuz they have no money to buy good s**t. They have to settle for what they can afford, that is reality.

alot of people just part out their cars instead of selling them.. so value has nothing to do with the whole? idk just my opinion

sohclubkid, you live in Florida, and so a stolen vehicle will be given the title salvaged, if that were to happen in California most likely that will not be the case. So yes, your case is unique. But you also get shot in the foot, cuz thats is your vehicles title for life.

Alot of times people part out of their cars if it has a salvage title, most parted cars on craigs list are titled salvaged, give them a call if you dont believe me. They could make more money selling the parts.

A guy down the street is selling a 1997 honda civic LX, in mint condition, new paint job and with rims, with 150k miles for 3k. Nobody is buying it cuz its salvaged. He is stupid thinking he will get maximum profit. That s**t is still on his front house sitting there for 6 months.

Evilrilla, your are ignorant; some people cant afford to have "clean title" cars, just because its salvaged doesnt mean its a piece of s**t, i would take a salvaged title car that looks nice and runs nice than a clean title car thats been ragged to s**t; just my opinion.

what if that salvaged car has been in a collision and the frame has been stretched back into place and you cant see it. when you crash, BAMN!!! your ass is DEAD. Not to mention the air bag never deployed. yea man, gamble with your life to save a few bucks. You will really feel comfortable knowing your ass is safe when the car "appears" in excellent condition. "It looks good! So it must be good," is your argument there. If a b***h looks clean, she must not have STD's go ahead and do as you please.

your not even getting the point. my car was a clean titled car...5th gen. I got it, motor was shot to hell, ball joints were shot, rear brakes basically did not exist, front brakes were shot... I would of taken a salvaged one over that no problem. an mines been hit in the front... physically noticeable on the drivers side.

if your in a civic an get in a collision, any serious collision... your goin to get f**ked no matter if you have a clean or salvaged car...your driving a frickin pop can around. example... a guy in a 90s cadillac crosses the center line an smokes you at 60. you honestly think its goin to matter if your cars been salvaged or not...f**k no.

point it most salvaged vehicles are not damaged that bad, but most exceed 70% of the vehicle value. this is based on parts an labor to bring them road worthy, or in a resellable condition. example 2. some fag kicks in every inch of your car. your insurance company will total it, if you opt out of the buy back..your car now has a salvaged title, an goes to auction. even though no structural damage has been done an nothing is wrong mechanically...its all cosmetics. but still considered salvaged.

know your s**t next time before you open your mouth

I see what your saying. But if you take the preventative steps BEFORE you purchase the car. You should check s**t before you buy it if its salvaged. Find out WHY its salvaged so you know where to comb through and check if you have any indications of part failure. Inspection laws up here in maine are pretty f**king tedious they check for all the safety s**t so theres another safety net. Also look at the gauge cluster. The SRS light should flash. If it doesnt they took the bulb out so you wouldn't know or its disabled. Same with the Check Engine Light. If your buying something you should check it out Before you buy it. ESPECIALLY if its salvaged. Just know WHAT to look for. Carfax ftw.

If I see anymore name calling or insults this thread will be locked and warnings/infractions will be given out.

Evil has his own opinion, just because YOU don't like it doesn't mean you can go around calling him ignorant or telling him to stfu.

That's your opinion OP................

I've known LOT'S of people who buy salvaged cars and have owned them for years without any problem at all.

To each his own

my cousin is currently looking into buying a salvaged car, from the pics looks like there was some front end damage. the car has all brand new fenders, hood, and bumper. were gonna go check it out soon and if the frame looks good and everything else checks out i don't see why not to buy it

Another thing to point out with front end collision is, if it was taken to a body shop to get repaired, 9 times out of 10 they will buy "Brand New" stock style aftermarket replacement parts. Sometimes they dont hold up as well as OEM or fit as great. Something to look for. Also when it was repainted, try and see where they blended the paint. If the just resprayed the nose and paid no attention to the rest of the car you'll be able to notice a huge difference.
