Same here. I have 2 of them and both get used quite a bit. Never had a problem yet. *knock on wood*

*edit* It's yellow "LIGHT" of death. The guy says it a ton of times in the video.

Apparently it is a lot like the XBOX Red Ring Of Death. RROD.

PS3 shuts down and the only sign of anything is a blinking yellow light.

I've had my ps3 forever, play it every single day cause I can't walk for about 3 hrs. Never had this problem..

i bought mine used and played it every day for the past 2 years i did neglect to clean it with the thinking of this will never happen its a sony but it did. when i opened it it was completely caked with dust so i would imagine that was the culprit. if i was you i would crack it open and clean it out.

its so ironic, I JUST fixed mine again yesterday....yessir! Im still rockin my launch 40gb ps3. Ive gotten the YLOD 3 times so far lol. Its so easy to fix tho and doesnt take long so why get a new one? for the record I played the s**t outta this ps3. im suprised it lasted as long as it did

what kind of thermal compound did you use on your heat sinks ??? game stop has a promotional trade in for any ps3 they give you $200 dollars credit it ends this sunday and i only paid 150 for mine so 100 bucks will get me a new ps3 slim.

Yes it voids the warranty. Unless you get an extended one, they are only like a year anyway.

It is true, the new 360s don't have the red light of death. Not that they got rid of the problems, they just got rid of the red light its self. Way to go Microsoft. Screw fixing the problem right?
