New to honda PLEASE HELP ME!

Hey guys i am new to this whole honda thing and iahve a few questions. First off can anyone tell me what motor comes stock in my 1997 hx? Like i see all this d16 stuff and im just curious what mine is or how i can
find out. Second thing is what can i do to get some more power out of the car? I currently have an k&N short ram intake, and a full stainless steel exhaust made by ractive (on when i purchased it). SO what are some less expensive tweaks i can make? and third thing is how do i post a picture on here? THanks guys=)

1. You can find out by the banner at the top of the page that says "Home" "Civic Forums" etc. Go over to "Civic Specs", you can find out your information there.
2. What exactly are you looking for out of your engine? Do you just want a little more pep in your step, or do you want a lot of power? Give us a horsepower goal, and give us a budget.
3. Host your picture on photobucket.com, click and copy the "direct link" box, come here and in the post box click the little yellow box with the mountain in it, and paste the link. When you post, the picture will show up.

right now i would say about $500 to put into it at this very moment, but i just need a little more get up to it. i am good around 55 feels like lots of power it just takes for ever to get throught the bottum of first and second. And what exactly does vtec-e mean obviously it dont crack vtec at all.

Yea i absolutly hate the wing but to have the holes welded and trunk lid repainted is $200 and i am selling the hood right now cuz i want one with out a scoop! Both were on the car when i bought it! but for $800 its a nice car! only 106xxx miles on it!

Wow, for 500 nice deal!!! 5 spd? and how did you for 800?

for $500??? If you can do it yourself, get headers and exhaust....again, depepnds on longterm goals tho, you lookin to boost???

Yea i payed $800, i just graduted from college, and the car was my step moms, so it was mostly a gift i guess you could say but i only payed $800 for it. So the car already has exhaust and i am reading some things that heders on an hx might not be easy? Something about the cat? Is this true? Also thought about lowering the car but where i live in PA- POTHOLE ALLY i dont know if that a good idea right now? althought i do want to! But thanks guys so much for the help on here!

I say sell the wing/hood to increase your funds. Keep the wheels b/c everyone loves those wheels. Just get a stock hood, use ghetto rubber fillers for the trunk til more money comes in, and lower the car.
