so a few months ago my car got broken into parked right in front of my house blocking the driveway. the window got busted out and my alarm never went off. my stereo deck. 2 ipods. a speaker box with 2 12" subs. 1000 watt amp under my passenger seat. and a case of monster were stolen. ever since i find myself always paranoid about my car. i live in a nice neighborhood. my question is what alarm systems would CC reccommend? ive been looking into the python systems which have the keychain with the full LED display that vibrate and make sound if a disturbance is sensed by the car. along with remote start ETC. any feedback would be great. thanks. :D

Sorry to hear that.Fkk thieves.
A top of the line alarm would help but also try looking into fuel kill switches and such. Cause we all know if some one really wanted your car they can get by an alarm. gl

viper, python, clifford, autopage, compustar, zenesis, they all make a good alarms, but it's only as good as the install. you mentioned you had an alarm and that it didn't go off. was it factory or aftermarket? was is an alarm or just keyless entry?? the other thing to look at is don't be fooled by some people saying their alarm is 2-way. eg, the viper 350 responder is two way, but range is very random from alarm to alarm, while the viper SST 1-mile range are GREAT. it also depends on what features you want. some alarms have iphone/blackberry/android interfaces to give you seemingly unlimited range. so it all depends on your budget, are you doing the install or having it done, and what do you really need it to do.

my first alarm was an audiovox, which was okay to start...

but now i have a 2-way viper. i stand pretty solidly behind it, but i have additional sensors as well. remote start, fuel kill, proximity, additional siren, piezo sirens, window breakage, etc., etc.

something like that gets really pricey, though. i've had my car damaged... the window broken and that... since i got this alarm, but they weren't able to steal anything. i can deal with one broken window. replacing equipment? not so much.

only thing i don't like is that a replacement transmitter is really expensive.

im gonna get a blackberry tomorrow so that BB interface would be great. i want window breakage sensor. tit sensor. proximity. and the alarm that didnt go of was the factory one as far as i know. i dont much care about remote starting or anything like that. and can someone explain what a "2way" is? im sure itll be something obvious.

2-way is the alarms ability to communicate with the remote, like the beeping and vibrating feature you mentioned in your original post. in that case you have really narrowed it down. viper/python/cliffordhave a BB interface. the BB app for compustar drone is in development, and the c3 from autopage is web based right now so it will work with anything that has a web connection, but rumored to be getting at least iPhone and Android apps soon. the Drone and C3 have GPS tracking, and viper/python/clifford is rumored to be out next year...maybe...possibly...hopefully.
