Why would you want to mount it behid the dash under the radio? Mount it in the trunk.

I don't want to run it all the way in the back but since it's small enough I've seen behind there and for future wiring it will be alot closer.I just like it there =)

This is quoted directly from the link you posted of the battery relocator kit. "Putting it in the cabin or trunk is dangerous because all batteries gas out when your car’s running, this can be very dangerous. For safety reasons, batteries belong in the engine bay."

I would think that unless you can seal it in a battery box, you are risking dangerous fumes being right near you if you put it by the radio. Even if you relocate to the trunk you should be putting it in a sealed battery box. Batteries give off bad fumes man. Very toxic. Pretty careless to put it in the cabin without a sealed enclosure.

yes I know they give off fumes but the odyssey battery is a dry cell right? The standard battery is filled with liquid (dangerous) of course to install without it being enclosed.Well if it's not a good idea then how about a link to how to diy and relocate it to the trunk, and also thank's for the safety information guy's.

If you put it behind the dash, your gonna have to take the dash off everytime you need a new battery...

Odyssey is a deep cycle battery. Dry cell is what you put in your tv remotes, kids toys, flashlights, etc. A, AA, AAA, C, D, etc.

Optima also makes a deep cycle battery.

Every battery is going to give off fumes. Some like Optima claim that under normal use they don't, but if they are overloaded, heavy loaded (big stereo system, extra accessories, etc.), or over charged they will release gases.

What an odyssey or an optima isn't going to do that a normal wet cell battery will is leak acid. They have what is more of a gel. That is why they can be put in any mounting position and can be put in applications where they are shaken and beaten. If the case ends up getting cracked there won't be acid all over.

There are plenty of DIYs and discussions on how to relocate your battery to the trunk. I will let you do your own research.

the odyssey is a dry cell battery. it can be used in any position and can be located inside the passenger cabin. actually any battery can be mounted inside but if it is a wet cell, it has to be vented properly.

Our Odyssey is mounted behind the passenger fender in front of the tire. its a great place to put it to clean up the bay.

Wait are you using a Odyssey brand battery, or hiding a battery in an Odyssey minivan?lol I know you can put it in front of the pass side wheel as already mentioned, on most hondas.

How are you supposed to jump it if it is dead?

*edit* I didn't see the last pic showing the posts on the firewall until after I posted.

if you don't want a disconnect switch, all you need to do is run an extra wire from the hot side of your battery to the red terminal and a wire from the black terminal to ground. If you want a disconnect switch then you run the hot wire from the battery to the switch then from the switch to a distribution block where it is dispersed to the red terminal as well as the fuse box, etc
