i would go with a 2 door coupe if you plan to drop a turbo one day. It looks more sport like. I have rarely see sedan cars hooked up nicely. But there are some nice ones out there, so its still possible if you desire a 4 door. also consider the 99 00 year. I really like its front end over the 96-98 models.

well since you'll be swapping down the road i would pretty much leave any drivetrain mods for later. in the meantime i would do:
exhaust (you can use it with either engine)
suspension (full coilovers, sway bars, rear subframe brace, etc.)
wheels/tires (15" or 16", i personally like 16)
brakes (rear disk swap, gsr brake swap, 5 lug swap, legend prop valve, etc.)

doing either of these, especially wheels and suspension, will still make the car fun to drive until you get the manual and the swap in there

^^ Agreed I did the auto to manual swap in my coupe... I did the wheels & suspension first then I did the LS swap... If you actually want to learn about your car and etc... just read! It's rather easy to get a grasp on =)

Well said.
Prepare for the leg humps. Other than that, welcome. Sounds like a good clean slate to start with

if u plan a swap just start saving and dont do any mods to ur car til the swap is done..

chances r u will change ur mind about 50 times on wheels and suspension while the swap is taking place so dont even waste ur time.

oh, and welcome btw

well i can do da LS swap since i have one just need to get a new motor for da integra. but i personally like da civic more the da teg. the 00 front end would look nice on da 4dr but its hard to find a whole set but instead of the bumper i want to put on the air walkers since no one knows about that here and its unique no 2drs for me since i seen so much of those around and never any good 4drs.

i know a few things cus my 4 dr wasnt my 1st civic my 1st civic was a perfectly tuned eg coupe what was said i didnt get to drive it after all the major mods like da k swap turbo which killed my bank account this is why u dont like ppls that cant drive, drive ur tuned cars they will end up wrecking it.

Jersey8 thanks for the ideas and i like da 16s as well but any ideas on what brand i should get or just start with ebay knock-offs

n0safebetdx :D nice u know how i feel then about da auto u just feel so limited to all da fun and how was it when u did all da converting soon.

THANKS GUYS <3 ;) u made me feel accepted and welcome unlike honda-tech

Welcome, I'm not trying to be an ass to you already about grammar. Just please don't type "da", it only takes another second to type "the". It make's reading so much more easier to understand. I came from the Subaru forums and typing like you have no education only make's you that much more un-intelligent. Like I said not trying to be an ass, but just a little helpful input. Car doesn't sound like a bad idea about putting a turbo on a four door. Makes it that much more of a sleeper. Good luck with everything and put some pictures up.

yeah i know but its somewhat of a habit of me typing "da" like that but i like the sleeper concept because i have friends taht always be dissing on my car because its a 4dr and its also an auto. right now i am just working on my headlinder since it fell off. i was also thinking to put on some type r parts on but i dont think some would fix but i think i'll just keep the air walkers if i could find a website that sells it.

Just fix everything you need too first, make sure everything is all up to date.. then start working on what you'd like too.

That's just my .02.

Yeah, def go for sleeper look. Everyone has 2 doors. Represent the 4 door. Get a black/stealth front mount. Then drop the boys jaws when they hear the blow off valve.

Yes another thing. Make sure everything is up to date. Belts, Hoses, pumps and more. Get a legit 5 speed trans. Make sure paperwork on the trans is there and not getting some pos, dogged transmission.

yes gotta go with something different then everyone else and i love the four especially when u put a roll cage in it.
ppl keep telling me you got to cut part of your engine out if you're doing turbo but i dont think that is correct is it? well before i do all that i need to fix the interior because i did to it as of now is change the gauge glow to green, install a wink mirror, new motor because when i 1st got it the motor was already dead.

i'll post pictures after this upcoming honda meet in washington
.

when i 1st for the car and me XD

the "new" engine they bobbed me because my old one was v-tec

Welcome, and f**k all 4 door haters.......
Im not a hater, if you want to rock a 4 door, its up to you, but I prefer the 2 door look if you are going for speed. Google "fast cars." You will see all those cars have 2 doors. Its the right look. Im just suggestion something to consider, that way, there would be no regrets later on. people fall in love with the car they currently own, i say consider all possibilities before making a huge investment. Especially now because she has an auto 98. I would save the money you would use for the auto to manual swap, and the rear disk conversion and invest it in buying a car that is a 2 door, has the rear disk already, and is has a stock, original, manual transmission. I see nothing but positive gains. you might find one with fewer mileage too. Only consider if you have the funds if not its fine, no big deal.
