Hey guys. So I was having an oil leak somewhere behind the distributor (LS Head). So I bought new o-rings for it. So I take it off and replace the o-rings and i put it back together. Now the car won't start. It'll turn over but it won't fire. What did I do wrong? As of right now I don't have a ride. Can anyone help me ASAP? My number is 301 643 9042.

the plugs on the dizzy are probably swapped with another sensors plug.
checked all the connections and everything's right. Where do I go from here? I'm running out of sunlight.
loosen and roate your distributor
if you accidentally advanced it too much, it can sometimes prevent a start if you have a weak ignition system.
Try centering the distributor in its mounting and then try starting it.

Well, myself, with help from my neighbor who is a metro bus mechanic, got the car running. But for some reason its not idling smoothly. Any idea what the problem could be now? We tried to adjust the idle by moving the dizzy around to various positions while it was running. But there isn't much room for adjustment.
He thinks it's the fuel filter, but why would the fuel filter all of a sudden take a crap after having dizzy problems?

Well, fuel filters are not only cheap, but they used the same one the entire 92-95 civic generation, and the same one in 93-97 del sols
Find a buddy who owns one of those cars, and swap filters.
OR
go to autozone, and ask to have your fuel pressure tested
should be free, and a clogged fuel filter will of course lower pressure at the rail

My testing, I get the throttlebody abre, and plug the hoels with my finger.
IACV, finger plug, if it smooths out, IACV needs adjustment, cleaning, or replacement
same with FITV on the bottm of the throttlebody
Yet a leak can also occur, causing un metered air to get into the motor and cause up and down idle searching

I'd be willing to say the timing is off, or pulling the spark plug wires off damaged them in some way, I'd start small before replacing the dizzy assuming that the firing order is correct and that everything is plugged up.
So I'd do plugs and wires first, then start with the coil and internals of the dizzy/timing.

Well, I just replaced the plugs, and the plug wires were new-ish when I bought the car...which was only about a month or so ago...This sucks.
Well...is it possible that the timing belt jumped when I was trying to start it. I looked at the cam gears...and the timing marks aren't totally lining up. Looks like they could be off one tooth. Also, on the way home, under about half throttle, i started hearing a clicking sound. This is great...as soon as the car "realized" that I was planning on selling it, it does this.
it is possible if the belt is old and soft, and the tensioner bolt lost some tightness on it.
set the crank pulley at TDC, and try and measure how many teeth it might be off
1 tooth wont cause any issues except power loss at a specific rpm, and a power gain at another.
too far off, and it simply wont make compression and it will crank and crank and crank
nice thing about teh LS motors, they dont mind being off. they are borderling non interference. valve BARELY kisses the piston, so you would have to be off by several degrees to do damage

I dunno man. Its definitely causing idle issues...really rough. It almost stalls when I stop. Also bucks terribly at lower rpm in any gear.
Did anything underhood get bumped around, maybe unplugged?

The only thing I unplugged were the wires coming out of the dizzy. The ones that attach to the main wiring harness. No CELs or anything.

did you check the sensor plugs like i stated?the plugs on the dizzy are probably swapped with another sensors plug.
my buddy had the same problem as you describe, and he had swapped 2 plugs on accident, which caused his car to run like s**t and stall.
he simply swapped the two plugs he had mixed up (they use the same connectors for some reason) and everything was back to normal.
