i uploaded them off the camera and then had to rush the ol lady to the dentist cuz she has an infected wisdom tooth and we spent a few hours there.

lemme put them on flikr then they will be up here quicker than s**t. bad thing is is that i have more progress from today that i havent put the pics on the computer yet, so maybe u can get those by the end of the week lol..

alright motherfuckers, here are ur goddamn updates...

i have had a busy couple of days and have been doing a lot of brainstorming figuring the best way to do this damn body drop since there are a few different options. i think i have it figured out, but i really amnot in a rush since it will prolly be going to this show (West Coast Nats in Parker AZ) with no floor. just as long as the thing lays doors i dont give a f**k if it has a floor in it.

the way i see it is if its laying doors with a rotary with a turbo mounted(hopefully) and rhd im pretty sure people cant b***h about there not being seats or a floor lol. kinda running out of time and i still have to get the bed and a few other things done before i could even start a floor and the likes..

but anayway, on to the f**ken piktars...

alright well i was getting to the point where i was getting a lot of flex in the cab and this is something u do not want. u want to be sure everything stays square for obvious reasons, i dont think i have to explain this one...

so i welded some round bar from the inner wall to the fram on both sides in the front to start with for support...

heres an underside shot showing the cap and the 3 inch difference between the frame and the cap. the cap will eventually sit flat on the ground..

well i was informed by the president of our local chapter of Severed Ties that my truck needs to be one solid color for this show, no bondo, so i decided to flat black the whole truck. not super happy about this, but i think its gonna look pretty badass when its done and color sanded... rustoleum flat black is the only way to go when doing a spray can job...

this is why i recommend the rustoleum. both fenders were done with walmart brand shitty cans of black and they turned out uber splotchy. so i sanded them down and went over them with rustoleum after this pic...

the other door, just cuz i can...

before i could cut out the rest of the floor in the back i had to brace it also. i used a 3 pt brace for this and it held up very well in keeping the shape of the truck after the floor was gone..

good penetration..

i also put a brace up frnt making sure that it will clear the tranny when the truck is on the ground..

after the rest of the floor was cut out i cut the supports off the frame and jacked the truck up and put it on jackstands the rest of the way to do some more trimming...

monster truck..

a little out of context but in the midst of this confusion the usps man brought me my throttle body i have been waiting on for quite some time now...
so i had to put it on my intake mani..

halfway there. sawzall blades r expensive, but i wouldve never gotten this far without one..

all the way cut out. now to pull the cab and trim the super thick jacking points where i have the jackstands.

the hard part about pulling a cab or bed is finding a friend dumb enough to come help u. it took me four hours of texts and calling to get someone to my house so i could spend 30 minutes cutting the rest off the bottom. now i cant seem to get anyone back over to help put it back on lol...

little pieces like this are what are killing me. this wouldve been so much easier if the truck hadnt been body dropped once before...

do it once. do it right.

well its off the jackstands, but the rear cab mounts are in the way of laying out, but the front is damn near doored...
this was exciting...

whata f**ken mess...

what good friends i have. after hours of phone calls and texts i finally got a buddy to help me...
this truck looks hella long without a cab on it. kinda weird lol..

the back trimmed up. running out of daylight...

done just in time. well still have a little more trimming to do in the front but u cant tell by this picture and the fact its dark outside. goddamn i bet my neighbors love me..

this is how low she will sit now. officially 45" to the top of the roof. im a pretty short guy and thats not even to my chest lol...
whadaya think, should i take 5" out of the roof?

the last pic from work last night. first thing this morning i snapped a pic with the doors back on. this is before i trimmed the rest off the front.

i got a lot done today. lol, but i dont feel like posting the pics right now.

but, i will tell u a bit of what i got done...

i cut the rest of the cab off and got it laid flat doors. just need to finish capping it, but i have a plan for that..
i also cut the rear cab mounts off and lowered them 3 1/4". this way i can space them up to the right height to meet the existing mounts and make sure i am flat door. some of u may be saying well chris, u only needed to go 3 inches so u are technically bodydropped past the frame. to those of u that r smart enough to figure this out, congratulations, and the reason for this is because, well, i thought it woul be the best way to assure i am dragging doors lol.

i also got the rest of the cab masked off and painted flat black. hopefully i can get the cab back on tomorrow and do some more welding. i had a problem with my welder not putting out gas, but after my buddy nick came over and tinkered with it for about an hour, we got it figured out...

thanks for checking in, and maybe more pics by the end of the week.

Good work brother. keep it up !
thanks man...

should be back on the frame tomorrow..

my buddy was supposed to come over today after work, but i never heard from him. his roadtser got backed over a few days ago, so he's been real busy, but if he doesnt show up tomorrow or so then imma have my other buddy do it. my other friend i just found out can tig weld and he just lost his job, so i would rather pay him to do it and get it done pronto than wait for another month to maybe get the one done from my other buddy. but he did say he finally got the flanges back from machining, so its all about getting it tacked together and mocked up, but u never know..

lol, i guess when i have it in my hands then i will be able to tell u whats up with it lol.. im hoping it turns out like i have it pictured in my mind...

Dont need a floor just get two pieces of bar stock weld it from one side of the frame rail to the other and mount ur seat brackets and that way if its not running yet u can flinstone it JK lol

Looks great cant wait to see it all primered up and back together i bet hearing that turbo when u drive up to a show will be a bit of a head turner

i keep meaning to stop by. pretty sure imma need a whole s**t ton of custom interior and i havent decided if i want to tackle that or not. definately be talking to u about a good portion of it.

do u do custom upholstery and s**t?
imma need my seats recovered at the minimum..

thanks for looking guys, and more updates this week i promise.
We definitely do custom upholstery work. We stock a wide variety of materials like Bride, Recaro, Status, Sparco, etc. We also can do leather, vinyl, suede and carbon fiber vinyl.
