Are your tires correctly inflated? Low pro?
The exhaust manifold is a one piece deal where the cat is connected to the manifold. Sadly the primary sensor on the hx model is the most expensive sensor out there.
Hood release cable you can get from Honda. Console parts try the junk yard.

FYI inflate to what the door jam says for stock sized tires.

Do you have ABS? it seems like your getting pulsing in your brake pressure, get the brakes bled whether its abs or not. what are the wheel bearings like, could they be bad if you replaced lower ball joints maybe the bearings were the problem. if your rear drums are not stopping you the nose will be heavy cuz the fronts are doing all the work. check that. get the chk engine light checked, I think there is a way to do it without a code reader but its much easier to just go to your local parts store they will check it. Depending which state you live in you could just get a header without replacing the cat. Or go with a ex setup, seperate cat from the header. You will need to relocate your rear O2 sensor but its easy to extend the wires. If your hood release is like mine the plastic handle broke in the cold you could do like I did, large washer and nut wielded to the metal end of the cable.

ok thanks guys get paid next week so im gonna bring it to my friends shop. but like i asked before wont any type of new or aftr market exhaust throw codes and make the car run wrong. i had a 90 celica and did a full exhaust system on it and it alway said o2 sensor was bad even when i replace it.

You can extend the needed wires and use something to trick the sensor. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Just make sure the header has two bungs for the sensors and make sure it'll fit the hx exhaust and not the ex since they are different in length because the ex's cat is after the header and not in the header like the hx.

Yes you could get a code P0420 Cat inefficiency I am not sure if there is a o2 fooler for these cars, mine I never needed it, I put header and full exhaust on and I do not get that code. As quoted below you can trick the sensor by extending the bung out of the exhaust flow a little bit.

Good point about the exhaust length, you could fab something up though.
