why would you install components in the rear deck?

I see LOTS of fail going on here

1. too many speakers + your tweeter placement is terrible
2. l5 in a prefab ported box
3. cap

i agree with the tweeter location it should be higher ear level preferably.

in a setup like this, since the midrange is low in the door, you would want your tweeter in the same and on the same sound plane. if the door speaker was a midbass driver then you could move the tweeter and midrange.

what's wrong with a cap?? nothing!! i've you're not using a lot of power all the time, a cap is all you need. now...if you're running high volume all day long, then yeah, ditch the cap and get a storage cell (extra battery as some put it)

as far as rears, i don't run them, most SQ builds don't run them, most concerts don't have them. typically if a customer wants rears, i use a coax, and turn them way the heck down. the main reason most new cars have component style speakers in the back, is because they cater to families and business class where there is almost always more than 2 people in the car.

it's not that they are in the wrong spot, they shouldnt be there. rear components are unnecessary. about as unnecessary as rear speakers in general

not trying to knock you, everyone has their own opinion, but many people will say you could have just bought a better two channel and far better fronts. the big thing is, does it sound good to you?

sounds good to me. The 2 channel RF Powers the kicker sub good enough to make the front seats and mirror vibrate.

that's not what i meant, i meant instead of a 4ch you could have gotten a 2 channel and better fronts.

*scratches head*

i'm not knocking you either, but... yeah, rear speakers aren't necessary in the first place. i like having rear fill, personally, but most of my sound is coming from the components *in the front*. so coaxials, i can understand, but the components are definitely eyebrow raising.

i've always f**king hated kickers, but i'll keep my vitriol away from you on that, totally unnecessary.

why'd you put the tweeters in that spot in the door?

at least it's clean..

i have the same component set in the front doors. I choose to put the tweeters in the door cuz I saw it once on handaaccessories.com . I have passengers sometimes in the back so, I don't think its unnecessary to have speakers back their.
