any ideas why my battery light is flickering when im slowing down to come to a stop at a light or something? it would flash n then the car will shut off.i just had a head job done a wk ago n drove it a few days n then this start happening.took it to discount n had the battery starter n alternator checked and they were all good.changed sparkplugs and tightened the alt belt cuz it was kinda slack.but it would still flash when i stop at a light n cut off.i have to put it in neutral n n keep it revved so it wont cut out.OO yea the oil light comes on too when it cuts off
ANY SUGGESTIONS WHAT IT COULD BE????????

i think the reason the batt light and oil light come on is cuz the car is "dying." i had a similar issue with my old toyota that was because of a vacuum leak. check all your vacuum lines, make sure they are all connected.

the only time i had my battery light flash is when i slipped my alternator belt and my battery was not charging. check the appropriate fuses, relays and your alternator connection and battery connection. if they are secure and you have a friend with electrical knowledge, see if they would run continuity tests on the wiring and have the alt tested. g.l.

the battery light coming on indicates a failure in the charging system. it is coming on because the car is stalling out. your problem is the stall, not the battery light

it's related to your alternator plain and simple. if the alternator isn't charging the car, it will cause the car to die.

turn on the lights while at a stop and see what happens while sitting there.

bet it dies.

the light will start blinking when i start slowing down to come to a stop then it will cut off.have to put it in neutral n rev it to keep it from cutting off.but this only happens when i drive it for a while.if i start out cold it wont happen.

so went to change the belts n discovered the mount by the compressor is busted.so im thinking because the mount is busted makes the car vibrates more n cause the belt to stretch out.what you think????/
