After market in-dash player installation

Hi, I tried installing two different models of stereos into my dash, I got the harness connector and connected all the right wirings using a legitimate pdf file for 1995 civic coupe stereo wiring schematic. But they never turn ON, the fuse I think is ok because its responsible for more than the stereo and everything works fine in the car, so what could be the problem? four main wires I connected to test were red, black, yellow and dark blue (didnt bother connecting the speakers until i was sure the set is working first) so could someone please help me out?

Make sure getting 12 volts on the yellow wire with a test light or multimeter, same goes for the red wire with the ignition switch in the on position. It's always best the attach the black wire (ground) directly to the chasis of a car. the blue wire is just the amp turn on. Be sure to check the fuse on the radio too.

none of the wires from the deck are touching right? Even speaker wires, this can cause the deck to go into a fail safe mode and not work.

Even in protect mode the display would at least light up or display a lit LED.

thanks guys, I tried testing the voltage, red wire's voltage was super good and yellow bit weaker, the stereo wouldn't work on yellow wire voltage but when hooked its yellow with car's red wire the stereo runs for few seconds and goes off, when pressing eject button it lit on again and displays Eject then off again. lol I think I will get a pro to install it for me :/

But Thanks guys for the tips and help. really appreciated!
