Hi from Civic Type-R Racer and Lotus Type-R Owner

Hi,

I'm going a bit Type-R mad at the moment and reading and joining forums.Reason for the current interest is that have just fallen back in love with the Type-R (EP3) as raced it again in the Britcar 24hr race. I've raced it a number of times in this race and others but not for a couple of years and it really is one hell of a car!!

Other Honda link is that I have a Type-R engine in my road/track car, a Lotus Elise S2 with Type-R engine and box in it

Still reading but will post some onboards from the Britcar race and maybe from the Lotus Type-R.

The race was pretty tricky as we had 21 hrs of wet running, we actually had to change the wiper blades twice !!

If your anything like another Honda Tech forum I posted on you wont be at all interested in the exterior but very keen to see the engine bay LOL. So, I'll go and nick that reply with pics and such and post here.

Here, as promised are a couple of pics of the engine bay PLUS I did a short video.

The engine is a VERY tidy fit and only increases the weight in the rear slightly (the K-Series is a very light engine).

I did sort the sound out on the VIDEO4 and this is an Elise Trophy car with a K-Series, again at Castle Combe. The K-Seeries doesn't sound bad, especially as it has a fruity race exhaust on it but believe me the Type-R sounds SOOOOOO much better

Now I have the car pretty much sorted apart from a decent geo I will get it back on track and get some more video with proper sound.

Thanks, it was actually the 6th one ever done, by Maidstone Spotrtscars. It has a plaque on the door. They sit really nice in the engine bay and the ducting already in place for the k-series keep the k20 nice and cool. Mine does have some slightly wider carbon covers as you can see on the 4th external pic.

I didn't build it i'm afraid, takes me all my time to check oil and water LOL. I bought it already converted and have done very little to it apart from drive it, put pertol in and change tyres (quite a regular occurance).
