cold air intakes

looking to put a new cold air intake in my 05 civic ex...

is there a differenc between k&n, weapon r, aem, and injen performance wise?

should i put a bypass valve on it? what exactly would the bypass valve do?

they are all pretty much the same thing.. an aluminum tube with a filter on the end. therefore it's more practical to get an inexpensive ebay intake and change out the filter for something name-brand and higher quality than what is included in the ebay kit

a bypass valve allows air to enter the intake piping downstream from the filter in the unlikely event that your filter becomes completely submerged in water (i.e. driving through a deep puddle). water entering your motor can cause major problems including hydrolock, bent valves and rods, blown gaskets, etc.

i would recommend AEM filter though. dryflow
