how much potential?

so i recently just did a mini me swap on my 00 coupe. i have a d15b head, z6 mani (looking for a y8) , y7 block, intake, exhaust ,header. what kind of potential am i looking at with this set up? plan on boosting next so my other question is , if i boost it at 10 psi , get a chipped p28 and do a tune how much power will i be looking at with stock internals?

No seriously, 10 psi would blow that to pieces and send metal shards in your ass. You would be better off building up the motor first with stronger internals for 10 psi. Up to 8 psi is in the ballpark to be on the safe side with stock internals

But wait! It also depends what turbo you're using. 10 psi means different airflow/cfm with different turbos depending on their size... obviously if you're using a larger turbo with 10 psi, you also have to look at upgrading your fuel system.

Just do more research.

i would have to agree with 31dev31. your pistons and all the internal engine guts would have to be built up. i would strongly suggest doin this before putting any type of force induction on the car. even if your only pushing like 5 psi its still a ticking time bomb before you break something which is going to cause hella more damage and a wayy bigger cost than it would have been if you did it in the first place.

The 1.5 liter motors do have thinner rods than d16s, but you could make 170whp and it would be reliable. You gotta go by horepower and not turbo psi! 10 lbs on a 14b turbo is way different powerwise than 10lbs on a gt42 turbo. And tuning is the most important part of any turbo setup.

Your torque numbers are too high.

I always think it's funny to see threads like this. How much power can you make on 10psi? Well you dont just want a high peak horsepower. You could get a f**king huge turbo and not make any horsepower until 6500RPMs because your engine is too weak to spool up the turbo, or you could get a small turbo that max's out at 4500RPMs. You need to find the right balance between your engine build and your turbo or you won't have a desirable power curve. It looks like you need to do A LOT more research before diving into this project, or you will end up destroying something, or not getting what you want out of it after spending thousands of dollars. This is not meant as an insult.....but do yourself a favor and get a lot of research done. Start with the basics, then move up.
