Just got an EM2 lookin for advice

I want to build up my D17 thats completely stock right now. Lookin for a point of direction for this build. Not sure if I want to go turbo or n/a but leanin toward n/a I wanna smoke people with a sohc n/a and them be like wtf!!! haha any advice would be great.

Good luck beating them with a N/A D17. I mean, unless you go with NOS there really isn't a whole lot of power going to be produced with a D17. Even if you changed all the bolt ons like headers, exhaust, intake,etc you won't gain much power at all.

if youre looking to smoke people with a d17 youre gonna need boost more than likely. d series wont do much without it.

ok well if I go turbo whats the best way to start off? Whats a good kit that isn't 3g's? Also I am looking for a suspension setup to go with. I want to go coilovers but not sure about spending a grand on just coilovers

You can look into some springs, or maybe some coilover sleeves, like the ground controls.

And if you want to be cheap you can buy raceland coilovers for $300, 2 year warranty. I might get some come the spring, some people love em, some hate em. You get what you pay for I guess.

Your best way to go is a k20 swap. And also go with the 6 speed tranny also. But if you wanna do something with your d17 you can always step up the cams and sleeve your engine. And maybe step up that clutch. But you won't be able to do near what a k20 pushing 24lbs of boost

looks like i'll be savin up for a k20 then haha. what's better though a k20 or k24? If im gunna spend that much money on an engine i might as well get the better of the 2
