Ok guys and gals. Heres the scoop. If yall have read it yet. I have a EJ1 parts car. I was thinking about turning it into a drag car. I really dont know how many people on here that has a full blown drag car or that has a buddy that has one. So if there anybody that has one or know someone thats has please answer the question. Ok Ive been looking around on google and Ive seen some with the 8 pnt roll cage and some with the 10 pnt roll cage. The qestion is which one should be used the 8pnt or the 10pnt or more?

NOTE: this is not the frist time that i have dealt with roll cages

Do you have the speed to back up a cage? Your not required to even a helmet unless it's somewhat fast down the quarter

unless you have extreemly deep pockets, and a tuner who has tricks up his sleeve, 9's in a all motor k series car isnt going to happen. Not yet atleast. 99% of the all motor cars that are competitive at this time are only trapping 131-132ish mph wise, which dosent require a certified cage, or a NHRA license.

the reason i ask is because you may not need a cage. It really depends on what you are going to do with the motor, how much power the car is going to make, and things of that nature. It would be pointless for you to put a cage in a car thats going to be a all motor d series, because its not going to be that fast. I dont want to be little you, but you need to make a reasonable goal, then go from there. Cages that are NHRA legal are not cheap, and is most likely something you cannot do yourself (unless you have extensive tig welding experience)
