Dome light problem?

Hey guys. So my dome light didn't work when I bought the car. So I just wanted ti get it to work so I pulled the bulb. It looks fine. so I checked the fuse under the hood(probably the wrong one tho) pulled the one labeled interior lights/gauge lights. That fuse was fine. So I did a voltage test. On the ON position, I got 0 volts, but when I choose the middle position, the on when door is open, I got jumping 1-2 volts when the door was open. weird. Isn't the voltage on the dome light supposed to be 12? Can anyone help me out here?
I have a 99 LX sedan, so I don't think the whole aftermarket , stock radio alarm thing should affect my dome light. But I'm probably wrong.

Its because of the aftermarket stock radio. My brother had the same problem. There is a way around it though i will have to ask him and get back to you on that though.

The dome light of a 99 LX is wired to the keyless control unit behind the driver's kick panel not to the radio.

OP, check the door switch.
