To help out its a 2005 Mitsubishi Lanncer Evolution MR (top of the line) with 59,437 miles the price is right at 20g. The paint is Apex Silver Metallic
well im guessing this is never going to happen. But if it was me, i'd get an sti over an evo any day. That's just me. Evo's are generally faster with the same parts but sti's look better, have better interior and sound a hell of alot better, and they have launch control which pre 2005 evo's dont.

For the gas it cant drink like my civic does...I get 200miles to a tank of gas.
Then something is wrong with your civic.

My friends WRX that made close to 300awhp got nearly 30 mpg daily. He drove like a grandma though and stayed out of boost 95% of the time. But he still got better gas mileage .

Let me tell you this like this... I have a car similar to an EVO; don't think about how much you make and how much it'll cost to keep a car like this per month. Let me break it down for you:

- Car payment monthly isn't going to be cheap
- Insurance (if under your name) is definitely not going to be cheap (I have my car under my parents insurance and it's 130/mo full coverage & they have excellent driving history)
- Must use premium gas only
- Gas tank isn't that much bigger than a Civics (I think around 13-14g), but car gets roughly 19/24mpg
- Oil change IS A MUST every 3000-3500 mile (synthetic preferrably)
- You said the EVO has 59k miles? Well guess what, if the previous owner did not do the 60k factory service interval maintenance, then that'll have to be done. Then another at 90k miles and 120k miles... then the motor might break after, etc..
- Anything else maintenance like brake fluid, trans oil, motor oil, brake pads, etc... Are not going to be as cheap as a Civic or any other economical vehicle

Anyways, besides all those things, you'll have a CLEAN ASS, BAD ASS, QUICK ASS ride! IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT, go for it, but be cautious!

Good luck on your decision! =)

I would say this isnt really a question for us to answer. You seem to want it, its just a matter of can you afford. If you can afford it though, go for it. I know a few people that went from a civic to a wrx or evo and none of regreted it

The only question is do you have the money?

Can't see a reason you wouldn't upgrade? Unless your a die-hard honda fan orrrr...

This is allllll on you... Either you can or you can't afford it... Plan not short term but long term.... If you don't have cash and your gonna be strapped then don't do it... there is a reason you bought a civic with the rest of us... (most) it was within our budget...

You have to, it is a boosted car... You can't run below 90 octane, it is not good for the car... They don't run good
I think he was asking why the op runs premium in his Civic. There is absolutely NO reason to run premium in a stock Civic. Waste of money.

If you're still driving a 16-year-old civic, you can't afford an EVO. The upkeep is a whole nother world.
