so basically Honda oil is the same thing that ford and possibly other manufacturers use? that would explain why its not that expensive i guess
i get mine for about $3.67 a bottle at the dealer

I've never bought oil from Honda :what:. I buy a 5 quart jug of Mobil 1 at Walmart. But then I have to go to Advanced Auto and get a Mobil 1 filter because Walmart doesn't :x. And I don't get Mobil 1 at Advanced Auto because it costs more for a 4 quart jug.

My car didn't start out on synthetic, and there are too many rumors that I don't feel comfortable switching over. Also....it's a SOHC Civic.....it doesn't need synthetic.

well they dont sell conventional anymore at the dealer and its not a problem to switch to synthetic and like you said its a sohc so ill just continue using the Honda oil for it especially for the price why not?....

If the price stayed the same...maybe. But I don't buy anything from the dealership unless I absolutely have to. I buy my oil from the Autozone 2 miles down the road, not the Honda dealership 20 miles away.

interesting observation, it probably means that HONDA has realize the positive gains of using synthetic oil on there cars. engine will last longer. However you can only do the switch of the oil with new cars, most of our old cars is too late to make the switch, it will be useless....

but if you take in your car to the dealer and the price stayed the same, hellz yea, that is a big plus for you man.

yeah the dealerships a couple miles away from my house i always go there and the people know me already
but yeah either way i can only get synthetic oil now from them unless i wanna switch to castrol or something which is gonna cost me more anyway so why not just stay with good ol' honda...
