so my window wont go the whole way up on my 99 civic ex. I dont think the motor is shot or anything because it will go down and it comes back up but only about half way. It doesnt seem like it lines up either...like the glass wont line up with the window it seems like the front of the glass is dropped. I just dont know what to do. Like do i take the door panel off? If someone could help me out thatd be awesome. I have a trash bag over it now because we're supposed to get snow tonight :(

roll it all the way down, then grab the glass and pull it back a bit, then while holding it like that, slowly roll it up. works in my 96 when it happens.

take the door panel off and check if the glass is on track. pulling it back most likely wont work

Another possibility is that the regulator itself is bent. I had that problem on my 96.
Doesn't really happen with automatic windows unless you got t-boned on that side or something.

thanks guys! I got it fixed though =) it was just off the track. The rubber trim around the window is actually making it hard for the window to go up though like the friction of the window against it is slowing it down. If i dont figure that out ill end up burning the motor out and i already know those are a b*tch to replace. But thank you all i had to do was take the screws out and pull the panel off and set it back on the track =)

yeah the panel was kinda tough to get off but i got it plus i had to pull back that plastic that covers the window compartment and i tried not to rip it but i eventually said screw it and just ripped it...its now being held together with good ol duct tape =) im a pro at fixing this now so if anyone needs help with this bring it on over to my house! Or not... But how much is that grease stuff? I just lost my job so im on a tight budget :(

15-20 for a small tube. a little expensive but it works better than the stuff from autozone or pepboys

i had a problem with the friction in the track and i used silicon lube. works great! My window wont go all the way up either but its because two teeth grinded off the regulator next to each other so it hops and gets stuck

@1sikcivic; I think that's the problem I have with mine. It'll go up about 80% of the way, and the motor will make a large click noise when it's stuck. I have to pull the window up by hand.
