good or bad buy? newbie help!!

i just bought a 98 civic coupe dx for $2700, bone stock automatic with 83k, seems like i got a good deal but the second i tell my friends they bash it,are they jealous of my superior shopping skillz? or did i get screwed?

oo lol yeah well its a d15y7 so im just gonna leave it stock until i save enough money to do a decent b18 ls tranny 5spd swap so at least i know it wont have been pushed hard so i wont run into smaller problems when trying to swap and whatnot, thank you for the input tho

200bucks for a 99-00 conversion,needs grill(20)lights(50) and the side blinkers(40), legit oem conversion for under 500!

You know what? i own a 98' Civic, i also do think a 99-00 front end looks nice, but the car itself just made me not want to do the conversion. 98-96 was a very nice designed front end, well.. at least that's what i think. the more i would looked at my car's front end, the more i actually enjoyed it. If you don't already know, you will find out that both front ends are are equally as nice. it safe to say that i would not prefer a 99-00 front end over a 96-98 front end. i just learned to love it pretty much. at the end of the day you have to do what makes you happy.

yeah i agree i was just shocked at the price when passwordjdm offers same thing just packaged and dubbed "jdm"for $1000, if anything ill get black housing lights , lip and maybe a meshie grill keep it simple and well under 100 bucks.im still new to all the civic mods and rule of thumbs, im an ex-240sx guy lol theyre too pricy for being older cars.

you got a hell of a deal kbb your car and see who is laughing. Also imo leave the 96-98 front just get legit fogs and ctr lip and you'll be fine 99-00 conversions are done like evreyday its pretty old now.

definetly picking up fogs and the mugen lips/spoon styled ones look promising,what color fogs?silver car decent paint no crazy shine but no peeling or wear,would a black type r grill look good or should i paint scheme it diff than every other civic out there,imo if so many ppl do it it must work right?
