There has recently been a ruling against NVidia, and if you've been having performance issues, this may be your cause. Take a look at the website and see if your laptop is on the list.

NVidia chipset was causing performance issues and they kept denying it.

My screen has been going black... to the point where I broke the hing part of my laptop and I cant close it now.

Great to know! so odd my girlfriend owns an hp notebook that doesnt contain that vhip but still has some of the symptoms of the failure! she was so pissed she bought an ipad and the notebook is dusty under the couch now

never will i buy a dell or hp again, been through 2 dells in a year, bought a toshiba and never had problems... also heard that hp has refurbished parts in it, dont know if thats true or not but oh well

I have also been told that up to or around 90% of all laptops are manufactured in the same factory over in china... Not sure if its fact or fiction but is interesting none the less.

I believe my macbook is from that year range, but no symptoms as of yet.. and I REALLY don't want to send my computer away

I had hardcore verical lines on my old macbook. I took it into apple and they replaced the whole machine.
