What is up? SO I got my Wisdom Teeth pulled Friday (ALL 4)... Kinda sucks, it's been a long weekend...

After surgery (IV Injection so I was out) I woke up and they let me walk to my car which they said most people can't even talk and I was talking like normal lol...

All weekend has been perk pills and Ibuprofen so it's been chill...

Anyone had theirs done? Experiences? Today being the third day my s**t is swollen and hurts the most of all the days however nothing that is PAIN just more comfort....

Post some stories if you got any..

You were knocked out? I was awake. All I had was Novacaine. I didn't even feel her pull my first one out. I just laid there while she tugged on my tooth. Then she holds the tooth in front of me and I went, "thats it?". I took 1 ibuprofen while the Novacaine was still active just in case I had pain after. Didn't take anything after that. I ate solid food the same day. 2nd one was the same, just a little painful because it was rotten. I was on ibuprofen for the rest of the day but that was it.

I still have 2 because I have the room.

I had mine done in bootcamp.

Yea, you havent lived untill they break, and rip out 4 teeth using the bare minimum standards. and dont give two shits about your well being.

but i toughed it out, and saved the Perks for the last week. That was a good week.

I had two of mine pulled out, not at the same time though. I was awake when I had it pulled out. waited about a month and got the other one removed. no swelling but i was in pain for like the first week.

Yea my Oral Surgeon was an awesome DR. He said that when pulling all 4 he won't let people stay awake, there is to much room for error and it makes it feel more comfortable just being knocked out... So I get there, rinse my mouth, sit down and get the IV and I was OUT woke up like an hr later and went home... It was easy.... I tried to eat a cheeseburger but the gauze made it not work so well lol... I honestly had no real pain the first 2 days other than if I strained myself...

Damn dude Im sorry you had to do that... I was very cautious about who because Ive never even had a toothache other than the wisdoms... let alone surgery

Yea with all 4 being pulled my DR said if you want to be awake you can see another DR because it is way more safe this way....

Yea dude I was eating Taco Bell Soft Taco's with no lettuce for the first two days and lots of ice cream lol... I have been eating normal food off and on since surgery...

The thing I hate is the mouth rinse, it is fine until like 30 min later your mouth tastes nasty....

OOOOOOOOOO I remember why he said they knock me out one is because of comfort but the reason that they do IV vs Gas is because of the altitude I live in CO so with being this high up the IV is the safest....

And for the past 2 days what hurt the most is where the f**king mouth clamps were at... I got a blister on one lip and like a red scab on the corner of my mouth, looks like a soar but its not...

Pulled or cut out? If they're through the skin it's different. Had all four of mine cut out. Sucked for a day or two, I thought everyone else were being huge vaginas about the whole experience. Tortilla chips 4 days after. You'll be fine. =)

LOL it hasn't been that bad, I actually am a lot better than I thought I would be.... As far as cut, I think they had a little of both, some were still inside the gum a bit... I do have stitches in each location I know that much...

I didnt talk to the DR after, only the nurse and she said it went great....

Tortilla chips on day 4 huh? lol My dumb ass was working on a stereo install yesterday and had a zip tie in my mouth that I was chewing on, always do it for some reason... Then I was like s**t I could f**k my s**t up lol WHOOPS:cool:

I know my low right tooth, they had to cut my gum open, then break the first half of the tooth, then go in with "pliers" and get the roots of the tooth, because it was so far back in my gum line.

1 shot of Novocaine, and it seemed like i felt every bit of it.

and i bled all over my pillow, got a piece of apple stuck in the hole, and my stitches came out when there werent supposed to.

See and that is why I put it off for more than a YR because of stories like this lol....

That sucks man that is also why I am following every instruction... I don't want any more pain that what I gotta deal with...

I got knocked out and got all 4 of mine done at once. i remember couting backwards from 100 to 97 and then waking up in recovery. they said i got off the table and into the wheel chair and on the recovery bed by myself. I dont remember that. The first day after sucked ass, but by day 2 i was eating McDonalds already.

There is a difference between impacted wisdom teeth and wisdom teeth. I am guessing that OP had impacted wisdom teeth. The difference is regular wisdom teeth grow in like normal.....impacted wisdom teeth are still in your jaw, and they need to cut into your jaw bone to pull the teeth out. I also had impacted wisdom teeth. It was not a fun experience, however my knee surgery was much MUCH more unpleasant.....and even that was relatively easy. All in all, wisdom teeth is a pretty easy surgery to go through. When asked if I have had surgery by a doctor, I almost always forget that having my wisdom teeth pulled was considered surgery.

I had two taken out. Was knocked the f**k out before

All I can say is... I had those out a few years ago, and had my tonsils / adnoids taken out this past summer... Wisdom teeth were worse IMO. Everyone always told me tonsils out as an adult is terrible... but wasn't that bad for me. Sold my last bottle of hydro to some guy.... :x

Yea I remember the DR says "Most people don't even remember going to sleep" and sure as s**t I remember talking to them and I paused then I was out.... But when I woke up there was no recovery, I asked her to change my gauze due to the bleeding, she gave me a wet towel to suck on for water for a second... Then like a minute later gave me some ibuprofen and a cup of water... Walked me to my car that was it... My mom drove me home at that point... The first 2 days were cool I was driving, stayed up all night playing COD... Then yesterday did a stereo install.. Today has been no fun...

See I don't think they were impacted.... Im not sure... They said it was a very standard procedure... They grew in but wasn't enough room... I don't think they were in my jaw... Or maybe they were... See I had my consult over a yr ago so don't remember the DR's comments.... But yea like you said man it was a pretty easy surgery

I had this done when I was in high school. I'm pretty good with pain tolerance, but mine hurt like a b***h and lasted for days. The swelling was pretty bad, could barely open my mouth for a few days.

I had all 4 of mine cut out when I was 15. Mom drove me, they drugged me. I remember the nurse trying to find my vein while the gas is on me and an arc of blood stream from my arm and her say 's**t'. lights out after that.

I vaguely remember being drug to the car by my mom and 2 nurses. I passed out in the car, drooled spit/blood on the door. Step dad carries me into the house(mom tells me this). I wake up I don't know how many hours later and try to remove the gauze. My mom said i was tugging on my lip the entire time, and when I finally caught the gauze she passed out b/c she can't stand blood.

I ate jello, milkshakes, and pudding for a week. First solids were stuffed butterfly chops, mashy tatoes, and green beans. I had zero swelling and bruising.

Sounds like it f**ked you up pretty good....

I am off the soft stuff kind of... But I must say it hurts to eat still.. But I guess that is somewhat normal for the first week or 2
