K, tax return time = MILD build time.

B18B, t3/t4 .60 trim, ALL stock internals. making 242whp @10psi currently.

New goal: 300whp, not too much power.. I rather have reliability.

I have a b18b head with Crower double springs, titanium keepers/retainers, and a set of ARP studs ready.

I need advice on the bottom end. Any suggestions for you b-series guru's out there? Would like to keep the budget low as possible of course, though I AM willing to spend money on quality parts rather than crap. I do not need top of the line stuff though.

May also get some Crower turbo cams and an adjustable cam gear for the top end as well, $ depending.

Thanks for the advice, y0 -- any help would be appreciated!

I knew that much, lol. Any specific ones I should be looking for? I'm also in the process of researching since I don't know much about the internals myself, but it always helps to have input from others

eagle h beam rods...and we typically use arias pistons. i would try to stay in the 9.5:1 compression range

good deal with the upgrade man. I'm running the same Eagle ESP rods and Arias pistons got traction speaks of. Mine are 8.9:1 and i love the way my car runs. look into good race bearings by ACL and a block guard if you can budget in the center hone Turn the boost up mang!

Already have a set ready. ha.

Anyways, how easy is it replacing this stuff? I will be having a very knowledgeble friend helping with this whenever we decide to do it, but if it's TOO much of a PITA I may not.... Was told the gotta drop the oil pan hone the block, etc... this is stuff I don't know too much about.

Looks like it's research time :D

its really not that bad. once the head is off and the oil pan is dropped the only othe hard part is installing the pistons. get a good pistom ring compressor, makes life so much easier. gl!

Well... due to money restrictions, and not really working... may not be doing anything with the internals, unfortunately. Throwing on a built LS head that I already have waiting to go in, and will be buying that new clutch you recommended me when tax stuff comes back. Also found a decent deal on a B16 LSD tranny, so may pick that up as well.

Forged internals depends on how much money I have this summer, lol.

I know the money feeling bro... Be careful with the built head and not the bottom end, I personally would AT least minimum Hone the block and new rings... That will yield a basically brand new engine with less risk of failure

Hmm... well if I don't plan on building the block with forged internals, I don't plan on trying to get anymore power outta her. Though I'm sure it still is a good idea to do all that... I guess we will see haha

Also, do you guys think I should pull out the power steering? It's leaky / whiny, and I can't put a good air filter over the turbo because it's in the way.

For those of you who don't have p/s, is it a PITA to deal with? I know once you're moving it's no big deal, but as for daily driving, how is it?

Thanks.

Hmm.. plus it is ugly lol. I may just remove it.

I also believe I found a B16 LSD tranny with <40k miles on it... Guy wanted 550 but I think I talked him down to 450-475. He says it shifts perfectly. Think this is worth the buy?
