radio not powering up

I have a 95 civic dx. I've been trying to install this after market deck on there but it seems to not turn on when I turn on the car. The radio is working fine because I tested it by plugging it straight to the battery. The fuses look good as well. Everything is in the right spot and there are no blown fuses. Could it be the wires? I wired them correctly by following the color codes. Is there another alternative way to supply power to the deck so it can be powered on by turning on the car? Thanks in advance. Hopefully your answers will save me money.

you tried it on unfused power??? Wow... not the brightest idea, I'm sure the radio is fried now.

What fuses are you using to provide power to radio? It should have three power wires.

The only thing I really touched was the stereo wiring from the car. The female end was clipped off due to thieves so I rewired a new female connector to it. I believe there's a 15a fuse in the fuse box.

It would be difficult for anyone to help you if you don't mention any useful details about how you wired the radio to power. For example, what colors are the power wires?

Well it's pretty much powered as colored:blue/white connected to the yellow wire of the connector, Black ground of course, Red/Yellow on the red connector wire and the rest are the speakers etc.

The two important power wires are the Wht/Blu and Yel/Red. The Wht/Blu wire has constant voltage (even with key off) and the Yel/Red wire has voltage only with the key ON(II). Check those two wires for voltage to body ground using a test light or multimeter.

Alright. I'll do that first thing in the morning and let you know the result. What should both of these wires be reading when tested? 12v?
