I just got in the mail, a NRG ground wire kit for my 97 civic w/ b18c5 swap. Ive never had to install one or had one in any of the cars ive owned. I tried doing a Google search and i didnt find anything that would help me. Anyone know of a DIY thread that has pics? or can someone posts pics of where the wires go and how its suppose to look like installed? Thanks in advance.

So just to clarify, I was not s**t talking... I was stating what I have read on them... Not saying grounding isn't a good thing or anything about HP just stating what I read in the past... Which is why I said I wasn't sure where to begin as far as help... I can offer this...

http://www.tunerfriends.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1783

This is not the NRG or the Civic Kit, however it is a ground wire kit none the less.... It is just more of a replacement for stock ground wires....

http://forums.evolutionm.net/evo-how-tos-installations/395194-buddy-club-voltage-stabalizer-grounding-wire-kit-installation-instructions.html

Now here is an example of a thread that talks about them being non useful...

http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forums/aftermarket-products/26448-do-ground-wire-kits-work/

I can't find you a direct install for it, but it sounds like they go to key spots they are already on now IE: Alt, V-Cover, Battery etc etc...

Good luck

I think they help. The def. make the ground circuit alot more dependable if one were to fail because of rust or never being replaced or touched.

As to the install its simple....the Big peice that looks like a battery terminal goes to ur battery, then run the wires from there to anywhere that has bare metal, i.e. Shock tower, valve cover, tranny, fender(sand off some paint), core support etc.

i havent looked at single pic on what this is, but im guessing it replaces tranny, motor, alt, and batter grounds? so just find and replace? kinda like the big 3 upgrade, which i should really do actually

well me and my buddy figured it out. pulled out the chilton manual and finally found a diagram. took the car out for a test drive n no more fluctuation of the lights and the head lights are actually brighter. so yea..not worthless modification.

Glad to hear that man... Again sorry for the misunderstood post....Hopefully your ECU issue is resolved...

Since it was hard to find the how to, you should post some pics for others of what it looks like, where it is installed... Etc etc....

i forgives ya :-)
replacing the starter seemed to have fixed the issue. i didnt do anything else to the car. its nice to be able to drive the car fast n not worry about popping an ecu fuse.

well i readjusted the who suspension today. looks more level now and rides even better.

i used the tap n die kit to fix the threads on the lugs that had been damaged. i aint riding dirty no more with 3 lugs on each rim lol. also bought a set of oem acorn lugs too. got some good n bad news. bad news...ecu fuse popped again. the good news, i found what actually is causing this. i found a connector that was LOOPED AROUND THE TIMING BELT!? i was like WHO THE F*** DOES THIS? easy fix tho. for now, i put some tape on the connector cus there is no way of taking it off. with all the rubbing of belt, it messed the connector up. i will be making a trip to the junk yard, cutting off a similar connector. go back cut the old connector off, have it soldered and zip tie it so this never happens again.

Lol all that trouble for such a simple fix
i know right? i knew this was gonna happen. it was gonna be something stupid n easy.

the thing i didnt like about this kit was that either the wires were too long or too short. other then that, easy to install. look up the ground points for your car online.

here are the pics..

clean install man, looks really nice. did you end up adding any additional ground points or did you just use all the stock locations?
