I would go oem on a major part like this that if it has a defect it can f**k everything over.

While OEM belts can fail just like anything else, the only ones you really see that have failed are the "name brand" ones. At least thats what I see posted up. This failed, that failed...the following posts are usually "You should have stayed OEM."

^^^^i think it's a good deal cuz it has a water pump included with it but like everyone said oem is better for the most part

yea i know that by OEM everybody means actual Honda factory made parts and I wasnt really considering an autoparts timing belt I was actually just considering the gates cause like I said that somebody talk about it here and I did some research on them but am pretty sure everybody is talking from experience so am most likely going to go for the OEM one but that Gates really sounds good........LOL

I second the gates timing belt.. I have it on my fully built single cam. But really, u only need them if uve upgraded ur valve train, like ur springs and retainers.. I had the oem belt on my turboed build for about 3 months and when i decided to take the motor apart, i noticed that the belt was stretched out due to the stiff spring i have.. Besides the gates timing belt is just a cheaper equivalent to greddys $200 timing belt..

Oh! And my valve train is fully ferrea with titanium springs if ur wondering
