dome lamp not coming on with doors opened

Hi, I changed the original factory am-fm radio in my 1996 Civic with another factory am-fm radio of the same type from a salvage yard car and now my overhead dome lamp does not work when the doors are opened..Just works in the "on" position...I thought if I used the same style factory radio and not an aftermarket unit I'd be okay..Anything I can do to make it work again?..Sadcas

i dont have a radio in my civic and i just hit the headboard just hard enough to turn it on when it dosent want to work....but maybe check fuses???

Yeah, just open up the stereo and look for a green plug, it should be connected with your radio harness, its called a security harness, you should have plugged it in to the radio. Anyways, there is a diy floating around here on which wires you splice together to get the dome light relay working again(that is if you didn't plug it in/or it still doesn't work if you plug it in) hope that helps. I will look for that diy.

I had this same issue & found this tutorial & was so happy to have my dome light working again, I saved the link so when I see other people with the same issue I post it.
