hello, just bought my son a 2000 civic coupe. we are new to hondas and was wondering if the tuner parts on ebay are worth buying? his has some mods done already but looking at steering wheels, guage pods, tachs, etc......if i buy a new steering wheel how does the aribag on the old wheel affect a swap? here is a pic of his car. its been lowered, 17" wheels, header, exhaust, body kit(needs repair on the front part), has R1 racing seats(but need harnesses). more stuff done but not sure what, lol thanx and glad to be aboard here and hoping to learn more about these cars, thinking of getting me one since his is fun to drive, lol

sup man, welcome first off, second, ebay parts are hit and miss, all in all you pay for what you get. you pay 20 bucks for some coilovers, they are gonna ride like 20 dollar coilovers, i would not trust any kind of part that involves safety of the car, seats, belts, coilovers, stuff like that. also , the airbag is no biggie. just undo the battery and let it set for a few, then you can remove it.

:welcome:

Ebay can be fun, you can get good parts and bad parts.... Gauge Pod, good place, but actual gauges your going to spend good money on quality parts... But only worry about good gauges if the car has a reason for them, stock engine with 600 dollars in gauges = BAD IDEA... So stock engine, get some no name gauges and be fine...

So to the point, just be careful... and don't by stuff that makes the car look stupid.... Buy with caution, search and see if it actually looks good on the car... If its one ebay someone has done it lol

So the wheels are that bad, but the body kit is ugly as heck, the tail lights are horrid the headlights are hard to tell...

Honestly get a set of 50/50 clear/red STOCK 99-00 EX/si tails for it usually under 100 bucks...

Get stock bumpers and side skirts and the car will look 100000000000000000000000000000000 times better!

Again Welcome, hope you enjoy Hondas!

Redline hit it on the money.... But spend the money on a GOOD quality wheel, like a Momo... I spent about 300 on mine about 6 yrs ago and it still looks brand new, and doesnt look like I won it in a box of captain crunch... But yea the air bag isn't that bad...

my car has a body kit and i love it. anyone is into there thing. so if your son thinks it looks good. then its great. (i dont like it tho... lol) as for ebay, its great. BUT ONLY when the buyer knows what to look for..... do homework before you buy anything.

whats the positive to adding a short throw shifter besides it looks better? his car shifts great and is smooth now.

It's primary design is to shorten the exchange from gear to gear, it is no smother or rougher than stock just less distance to the next gear.... It is so that if your racing you can get it into gear quickly... Hope that helps

Ebay on this one just no alluminum

Yea but why spend the money on something for someone that is 19 with a stock Civic? Not hating by any means... But 100-200 dollars for something that is the exact same as a 20 dollar ebay item?

Just sayin! :P

If it where mine i would pull the body kit off lip kit front and rear and either stock taillights or 50/50 tails. Everybody is into there own thing though. Welcome to the site

no argueing guys, lol im here to listen and learn. all info is helpful. im talking him into replacing the front with a stock bumper. leaving the led rears, he likes them, lol hes 19 and not alot of money so hes prolly gonna look into ebay stuff(tach, gauges, pod, shifter that sort of stuff) motor has header and full exhaust, cold air filter, adjustable struts and a few other things.
