ok, i guess ima have to be the one to be a dickhead then....

i didnt see how much power that evo made, but it only went 9.33. Not only that but he left the hole hard (AWD) and only cut a 1.61 60' on 35psi.

IMO, not impressive. Plus, those motherfuckers need to get a better video camera

im still reading the whole long thread...

they said they didnt care about 1/4 mile times, they have shitty tracks (remember, its not america) and their goal is to push the limits of tuning and to create more efficient parts/ designs. ;)

thing is, it DOES perform... just not in that form.

they make and develop parts. without people doing what they do, we wouldnt have Garrett hybrid turbos, or cost efficient pistons and rods made of exotic materials. and also, the cars they build with 1000+ HP dont need to be rebuilt every time they "race" them, they are meant to last and withstand the abuse of 60PSI and are tuned like it was made from the factory like that.

im curious as to how fast they would be on U.S. tracks.

i wonder how good they would do if they actually pushed the car to its limits on a track

lots of people make 1000+whp and dont have to rebuild every time they race.

Not everyone has to prove themselves. The fact that they can afford to build these types of engines and parts puts them in a different league then you.

I don't know if it's because you feel like you have to macho up to make yourself feel better or what.

Damn , i wonder if they digitized the 4g motor to recreate that block, and if they did digitize, i wonder what scanner they used, more importantly the accuracy of the scanner. water jackets, oil galleys, and other internal features, wonder how that's going to be handled. Hey hey, that turbo looks really familiar, lol. Some areas in engine building consider -+.002 tolernce to be sloppy. Crazy.

nothing macho about it. They cnc'd a block and made a turbo but the car only went 9.3x's. Thats not impressive at all when people are going mid 8's on a 1.9 liter stock casting honda block. :what:

If your going to manufacture a product, it should be able to perform before you try to sell it to the general population. You should know this considering your into the computer industy.

Keep telling yourself that. I'm sure you'll eventually believe it.

It should, and it does perform. You say they run 9.3s, did you see the surface of the track? You probably pulled that 8.89 on a properly maintained strip didn't you? The guys pulled a 9.3 on a track that sucked balls, and was still spinning 1/4 to 1/2 way down the track and I'm sure probably more than that.

Again, sounds like your trying to find a reason to down play their word. Again, they are on a totally different level than you are or probably will ever be.

Not a very good example, Indy racing isn't as big as it used to be. 5-6 years ago, you could count on seeing Indy racing on CBS, NBC or other major networks, now unless it's on ESPN, that's it.
