It's pretty cool. Too bad it's just another way for us to get fast and lazy.

I hope they could use it for the handy caped. That would make one hell of a basketball game though!

Probably not in most cases. You would need to have control of your body from the hips up (at least). It might work for people who have lost a leg, but probably not for paraplegic/quadriplegics.

yea, lets blame technology for why people are f**king fat.

This is pretty damn cool. I don't foresee any really practical use, but the technology is awesome:

really? seems like it would replace a wheelchair or the karts used by handicap people, but then again, like you saids, its controlled by hips and legs. Yes, the techno-alogy IS awesome

My logic is this.... A wheelchair is incredibly stable. If somebody bumps it, nothing's gonna happen to the handicapped person. This thing DOES have some ability to autocorrect itself, but how much? Can it really handle somebody tripping and falling on it?

Even then, if somebody tripped and fell onto the person him/herself, that personal is falling, and depending on the handicap, may not be able to brace for the landing. This person could then end up with head trauma in addition to the other handicap. See where I'm coming from?

I see exactly were your going. This is a prototype, we'll just have to see what ends up happening with it and what its intention will end up being. very cool device so far.

I think technology is a HUGE contributing factor to why we are fat and lazy. Don't get me wrong, it is not 100% the fault of technology, but it certainly helped. Would you rather go outside and chase a wheel with a stick, or play Call of Duty? Would you rather walk several miles to buy something, or order it online? Would you rather raise a cow and milk it every morning, or buy it at the store?

People are fat because they make bad eating decisions and bad exercise decisions.

Video game developers are not putting a gun to your head and telling you to play video games instead of playing stick ball outside. Fatness has gottten so bad that now the video game developers have to make systems with intentions to get the user some exerices (Wii, Move, Kenitc) So, in thius case technology is actually helping people loose weight and get them off the couch to promote less laziness.

are you an obese person?

^^Nah, Victor's not obese, he's actually in pretty good shape.

I do agree with Victor, but I also agree with what you're saying Hecz. You guys aren't really on opposite sides of the argument.

I think you would both agree that technology HAS had an impact on our society's weight in a negative manner, but that it is not the fault of technology. Rather, it is the fault of those who use technology while neglecting important fitness and eating habits.

I agree with everything you are saying, I really think we are both on the same page. I don't BLAME it on technology, I'm just saying I think it has contributed a lot. I'm not obese, certainly not skinny. I have a couple extra pounds that I would like to shave off, but for all things considered....I treat my body much better than the average person. Not to get off-topic, we have a thread for this in VIP. Check it out!!

Yep that's pretty much exactly what my point was, but I think my point may have been lost in my post.
