94 Civic. 4door
B18a1 LS.Stock motor
CAI
Phearable basic ECU tune
2.5 exh.
New colder NGK plugs (for nitrous use) Haven`t used it yet....
Dizzy at stock setting
B&M(Commandflo) adj. fuel press. reg. set at 60psi w/hose connected at idle...

Question is, I just went for a 15 mile ride around outskirts of town and in town and all seems good except for some popping on decel. and the plug porcelins are all white just like new...Dark on the plugs threads....Running SUNOCO 100 octane fuel....No intake leaks....Just want to be safe and not melt anything.....Do I just not have enough time on the plugs to get any color on the inside of the plugs/porc.????
Thanks....

You are running some high octane! The popping on decel should just be from the exhaust. I would think that 15 miles wouldn't show very much on brand new spark plugs, but you are tuned... Maybe drive nice and easy for some more miles and re-check. Any other ideas CC?

I`m only running that high octane only because of the nitrous....I do not want any detonation upon use of nitrous....I did fill up with some reg.87 octane from a half a tank.....I have put on some nice normal driving miles and there is a very little amount of color but I might just have a nice clean running motor/intake/exh. setup.....
But the popping on decel. is pretty loud, but sounds kinda cool though.....
Thanks....

No wideband? If you are thinking you are runnin lean you deff need to get one. What about a egt gauge? It can also tell you if your running lean by the high temps. If you are using n2o you deff need one or the other.

Thanks for the reply....
Well it was just because the plugs were new and hadn`t got any color on them...Put some good miles on them and finally got some good color on the porc.,down deep in the plug...I hear ya on the egt sensor or wideband....Ran a couple 4 gear n20 runs and did a plug check after and they looked great...Rich IMO....But thats safe....
But on the other had, I SOLD this car after getting it all tuned in to someone not even into running the juice,soo....$3200. I couldn`t pass up on the cash in these tight financial times....
Thanks for everyones input....
