My New Civic :D

This is my new civic I picked up 2 days ago. I have never had one before im almost 30 and now the only thing I can say is I wish I would have picked one up when i was a kid. It isn't bad has the si body mods and the 14" rims but these will be temporary actually a lot of things will be temporary future plans of engine swap/boosted def going for coil over suspension and 17" rims once I figure out what direction I want to go wth everything.

First thing was to get the crap ripped out of the car replace a couple missing parts ive learned its easier to start with a good base platform before you go crazy and do the big mods.

I have ordered parts and waiting for them to come in the mail.

I have changed the rear wheel bearings as they were shot

The brakes are pretty bad too so i ordered some stoptech front rotors and hawk hps pads

If it counts i picked me up a nice little cable to hook up to my cd player that came in it to run to my cell to play some good tunes, a grip pad on the dash to keep stuff in place and a replacement light bulb for the dome light

Also ordered a dome liight cover cause I hate missing parts.

LMK what you guys think.

Thanks guys I am very excited honestly iI have been enjoying the great gas mileage and having fun I am surprised at how many complements I have gotten on it already. I will get some more daytime pics of it when I get a chance.

I may not go 17" Im just throwing out ideas right now more than anything.

I have a lot of learning to do.

I am going to do both performance and show. I am more concerned with performance but at the same time im a tinker person and if there is a way I can make something different I will def try to.

My thoughts were the same to start out with suspension and work my way from the ground up.

I am going to first take care of anything that needs replacing. If its a way I can upgrade to a nice aftermarket part along the way then thats a bonus. I need new ball joints, shocks, rear brakes, tires. For the time being ima slap some used tires on the front to get me by no use in spending money on new tires when I know im getting rid of the rims.

Once the suspension is fixed Ima start looking for stuff thats missing or needs to be replaced such as the outer door moldings and stuff like that.

I know I want to do an engine swap thats a given, and turbo.

Let me ask you guys a question on the turbo ends do you guys usually run a single setup or twin ?

My last car was a 92 vr4 twin with td04 16t's I kept one of the 16t's but wasnt sure if it would be applicable to any of the engines that are usually swapped.

as far as appearance mods once I get done with my suspension I am going to start with interior after that. Honestly I care more about what im seeing as opposed to what everyone else sees. then I will work on engine clean up and mods and the exterior will be last. I may throw some widebody fenders on the front. I am kinda iffy on the body kit's but if I do anything I will only go with something like duraflex or that doesn't have to be molded in or any of that stuff.

I down the road once everything else is done might get some shaved door handles, billet style round gas door might go wingless with the duckbill cause I think wingless is awesome

I am def going with a coilover asap though.

Thats the only things I can think of off the top of my head but im sure there will be more plans to come.

Honestly im just glad to be on a good informative sight and im seeing a lot of clean rides that I really like.

I would say stay away from 17's if you were to drop it. Smaller, wider, and a low offset will probably make your drop a little bit better. But it's your call.

Well as an update still a bit frustrated Having trouble finding parts. I was finally able to find the time to replace my rear drum brakes. I am dealing with a headache from ebay right now. Mostly my fault but I am still learning about parts with civics. I was un aware that the hx dx, and ex made such a big diff. Turns out my powerslot rotors didn't fit and now the guy I got them from is giving me a hard time about returning them.

I did manage to get my stoptech ss braided brake lines on so that was a bonus.

Looks good man, you have a clean slate to work off of.

If you're looking to go with some 16x8 wheels, if you go with a offset of +20, that'll sit them pretty close to flush with the fenders. You'll need to roll the rear fenders, along rolling the front one's a bit so the lip doesn't get caught on the tires.
