Well i leave in 16 days haha. I didnt get a specified job given to me and was one of the only ones in the DEP program that didnt get a job besides some retard kid. Thought having a good ASVAB score would have helped and not usng my brain i signed a contract for the open mechanical. i Completely backed out in 2009 from joining. My recruiter was pissed when i told him the open mech wasn't the way i wanted to join this time around. He tells me i will get the whole Mechanical List to pick from when i get to basic. I am looking aerial gunner, aerospace propulsion as my top 2 from the category. figuring out the rest.

i went in open mechanical and when they gave me the list there was 2 jobs available. Hopefully you get better options than we did :lol:

edit: aerial gunner would be cool as long as your not on a helo. Those things crash all the f**king time

yeah, but if you're not on a helo you just load, inspect and maintain only on the c-130s from what ive read. somebody else fires them.

My main goal ( i think its what i want to do haha) is to try and become an officer and then pilot years down the line.

So for the 2 jobs you had to pick from, was that it or were able to pick the others even though they "weren't" available. I'm seeing my recruiter on tuesday to go over the basic training stuff, checklists and such.

yea you could go AC-130. But being 1A7X1 really limits where you can be stationed.

There were seriously only like 2 jobs to pick from. 2W1X1 and 2T2X1. I picked 2T2X1 because I didnt want to be limited to only fighter bases. (AMC bases tend to be nicer)
