got a co worker with an 2011 Si.. Vtec Kicks in hard on it..

IMO.. if u want a car thats "fast" with out having to fix it up or any mods that is Reliable.. Si FTW?
i prefer to be the underdog and ROCK the SOHC..
Boosted SOHC D15B > stock k20 :-D

at 1/4 of the cost

the main reason i got this civic is so i could have something that i could take out on the windy roads out by my house, and save money on gas and insurance, because my previous car was a buck park ave, that got 17.8 mpg. my main vehicle goal to reach, is either a new civic si sedan, or a new subaru STI, i'm torn because a civic gets 30+ mpg, but an sti is fast stock, and already turbo so i dont need to boost

i dunno how reliable the Mazda 3's are.. but the co worker that has a brand new si also bought a brand new 2011 Mazda 3 Turbo.. i test drove it... thing damn near snapped my neck when boost kicked in... yaaa for the boost.... boo for Rotary... i hear over heating is an issue but if anyone can prove the heating issue wrong then they run about as much as an Si...

I've never heard of a Speed3 overheating. I have personally seen several blow the seals out of the turbo, but Mazda was good about replacing them under warranty.

I also know that there's an issue modding them with the high pressure fuel pump not being up to the task, but that just means a new fuel pump.

i was feeling the civic for the reliability factor, and the mpg, but boosting it wouldnt get me 30 mpg i dont think. so for the cost of the new si sedan, plus all the stuff to boost it, i can go pick up an 08/09 STI
