i've pretty much decided what i want, but need experienced opinions. im gonna do a gsr boosted with a garrett t3/t4 hybrid 50 trim turbo setup... its going into an eg sedan and is gonna be a daily driver... it looks as if ill get mid 200 hp or low 300's... depending on the setup and tune and psi and stuff... so from experience, is this a good setup, for daily driver?

It could last... make sure you get the best tune possible, and I wouldn't advise beating on it a lot either. If you keep stock internals it could go with too much redline. There are some people on here with DD turbo civics that have lasted years! Just do it right ant take care of it and it should last.

I have a DD turbo ls swap. Been up since September, and is just about done enduring the winter finally. It's seeing about ~240whp @ 10psi on stock block right now. Only issue I am having is the stock head bolts are stretching. I have a built head and ARP bolts ready to go in once it gets a little warmer.

As previously stated, reliability is pretty much all in the tune. If anything, that is the ONE thing you should never cheap out on. You seem like you're doing the research though, so I think you'll be just fine :thumbs up

Its all in the tune and how much you beat on it. If it never sees anything under redline it will have more problems than mostly normal driving. As stated above it seems like youve done your research and are still doing some which is good. Just get as good a tune as money can buy.

well, before it goes in, im gonna be building with forged internals, and im in the process of finding a stronger crank to go in it too... i figure if im gonna do it, i may as well build it right the first time instead of having to rip it out later. from what i have seen of hondas around ky, people throw turbos on a stock gsr, and blow it up within 2 yrs or less...

your not going to get that power out of a d15 as a stock block dd. for 200whp will need atleast headbolts. adn over 240whp deff internals

I have been researching for my turbo stock block build. I thought it be a good idea to also run a turbo with a smaller trim. If you read super streets turbo civic build it had a lot of great information. And the turbo would be like a .47 is roughly the smallest trim I found or at least wanted to run. Also a thicker head gasket at minimum with the arp studs for stock block.

He said boosted GSR... aka B18C, lol. 250whp is definitely in the running. I make almost that with my LS. So 250-300whp is a good range for the stock motor, 300 is probably towards it's limit.

^ this he didnt say he was boosting the d15. Shoul defintly be able to make his goal on the gsr.

negative, do not go with an aftermarket crank...stock crank will be just fine. surprised noone commented on this.
