hey, i have a 96 ex coupe with a d16y8 and 5 spd in it. i recently bought a turbo kit from a buddy. (never had a boosted car before, and so i know absolutely nothing about them. yet..) he said it was an emotors kit. its a 57mm t3/t4 turbo with a 38mm external wastgate and an hks style blow off valve. im wondering what parts and motor work i will need to make a 200+ hp build, but this will be a daily driver so i'll need it reliable as well. any suggestions on parts would be greatly appreciated. im trying to do this with the most bang for the buck in mind. thanks again.

A .57 seems a bit big for a DD single cam but im not the resident single cam expert. Any way, vitara makes some very good pistons. hondata engine man, golden eagle block gaurd at a minimum or GE sleeved block if $ is right. I love Eagle H-beam ESP rods, imo, the best connecting rod on the market for these applications. Precision is good for injectors but it depends on what you want out of you're set up.

^ this when got traction sees the thread though he can help you out some to op.
Tune Tune Tune Tune if you cheap out on the tune not only will it not make your hp goal, but it isnt going to last.
I would do any maitence and besdes the stuff listed to build the motor do any more rebuild stuff and have it in perfect condition. You ever want to know what the weak part of your engine is dont do the maitence or rebuild then throw the boost on. You will find out soon enough.

For something around 200whp, you don't NEED to build the block, but reliability wise if you have the money you definitely should. Other than block stock, I'd get a higher lph fuel pump, new timing belt, and a GOOD tune.

What else came with the kit? downpipe, turbo manifold, intercooler, etc?

.57 trims are excellent for single cams, hopefully it has a smaller exhaust housing so it spools quickly. If you motor is currently in good shape, and you have a good tuner, you should be able to make 200whp no problem.

the turbo was on a single cam integra. (no idea why it had a single cam) but it has piping and an intercooler. i was also given some dsm 450 blue top injectors. a buddy of mine said he knows a good tuning guy who does dyno and street tunes to get the best setup possible. im not wanting to go crazy, but i definitely want to rebuild this motor. (it has roughly 170k miles on it..) i'll post up some pics of the kit soon. thanks for all ur help everyone. anything i can learn helps me out tremendously!
