Ok so I picked up a new kicker sub still in the box from a store that was going outa sale for a helluva deal. I have wanted one of these since I saw one of my friends cars with one, so I finally bought it and need a new amp to match. Here is all the info on the sub.

15" Solo-Baric L7 Car subwoofer
2,000 watt Peak / 1,000 watt RMS
4-Ohm Impedance
Solo-baric new logo design
SoloKon™ basket with vented 360 degree back bracing
Up to 20 percent more cone area than regular round subwoofers
Dual high temperatures voice coils
Improved Pole piece with more heat sink capabilities
Cast aluminum basket
Spiralead tinsel-lead technology
T-Cut top plate
Mounting depth: 8-11/16"
Sensitivity: 89.4
Frequency response: 18-100 Hz

I just need to know what wattage range of amp I should be looking at and other things...I honestly never tried matching subs to amps as i have always just gone and bought whatever and hooked it up. Also as my cars revs drop already when a bass line hits with my 2 ma audios I had I think I will need a capacitor or something upgrading to this. All help is appreciated.

Also I was told by the guy from the shop I bought them from I can make them 2-ohm by wiring the positive to the other positive and the negative to the other negative then just use one positive and one negative wire from the amp to sub...I dont know if this is true, just what I was told

If it's a dual 4 ohm, it can either be wired to 2 or 8 ohms.

TBH, you are not properly fittting a 15 l7 in that del sol. Or even a civic. 15" wants 5 cubes ported before port and sub displacement are accounted for.

Should've bought a 10 or a 12

Its getting mounted already and it does fit...I replaced the panel over the spare tire are gave it a 4" spacer and dropped it in on top...I dont have a spare tire anyways so:what:

I was looking at a power acoustik 2200 watt amp 950 watt at 2 ohms so i think Ill go with that

And right now with my 2 ma audio 12's are in a box with just over 2 cubic feet, so yes the going smaller allows less sound but i figure it wont be horrible seeing as those ma's are on a junk amp not even giving them 200 watts a piece one sub with that amount of power going to it will at least match the sound of the 2 12's

Maybe you got it to fit in the smallest box possible, but that's not how it's done

A sub is only as good as the enclosure it's in. You're on the road to a shitty setup.

you can try getting a smaller baox, to create more air wich would make it thump harder. (obviously) but i suggest the ''Memphis 1000W 1-Channel Class D Power Reference Amplifier'' try looking on ebay or others. it is going to use power, but a slightly upgraded battery will do. just bare in mind 1 15" will not be louder then 2 12" happing bass playing =)
