I'd stay away from those things, half the time they slip off and I've never seen one that I thought looked decent. When my Civic was auto I had a 98-02 Accord auto shift knob. It fit the same as the stock one and was leather with a chrome button. I'll take a picture of my console later and post it in this thread. Also you already have the shift boot, you should get a different knob... You can remove that knob and put a more manual looking one on and it will look like a stick. You would just have to push down rather than using your thumb lol...
Not the one with the button....I'd stay away from those things, half the time they slip off and I've never seen one that I thought looked decent. momo makes a really nice auto shift knob, it looks sweet with a boot. its what im going to get eventually. i have one right now that has the set screws like you were talking about. works just fine, one of the set screws goes into the old screw hole that held on the old shifter, so its pretty secure. i just have to tighten it up about every few months. Not the one with the button....
A Buddy of mine had an auto and we slapped on a stock Manual Trans knob and then later the ball style Machined looking one and all he did was Push down on the knob its self to engage the button inside... Does that make sense?
I know what you mean about the lame button ones...
Semi-Flat black always looks good, you won't regret it.I had a spare center console that I tried painting just to see how it would look and I used Krylon Semi-Flat black and I thought it came out great. You can't really use Armor All on it but a wet rag works fine.
