Subwoofer Cutting Out?

Okay, I have an EK with the following audio set up:

Alpine CDA-9886 head unit. Alpine MRD-M1005 digital amplifier (1000w). Alpine Type-R 10" subwoofers. Rockford Capacitor. 4g Wires. Stock Honda battery.

I have the capacitor & amp set up with two separate grounds. I think the location of those may be the problem actually. Think there might be a poor connection. However I wasn't sure if it was the battery being weak. They randomly cut out while the amp still stays on so I know it isn't the fuse being loose, not to mention I made sure. I can't remember if the last car this system was in had the rca cables in pre-out or input connecting the the amplifier. Right now they are in the pre-out...if anyone can help me please ask questions or do whatever may be concerned to trouble shoot this. When they work they pound pretty clean, crispy, & loud. Unfortunately they just randomly stop working at times.

Also, doesur amp feel like it is over heating and cutting off?

How long does it play before it shuts off? Do u have cooling fans? Is the amp mounted in a place where it is open to air for cooling?

Mymem just nailed it i promise.. went through the same issue, was the ground and the amp was warm so i got 1 that ran cooler

^this could have something to do with it, but the sub should perform fine even with a capacitor...

It could. I'm going with a bad ground or the amp is wired to an ohm load it's not stable at. What ohm load are your subs?

Also, your rca's should be going to the input of the amp, not output.

Signal goes "out" of the hu "in" to the amp, not the other way around

^ Definately true, and if you think about what a caps job actually is, it really is just a way to steal your money. Get HIDs if you wanna cut headlight dimming Try the system without it after you figure this problem out.

I'm also going to say it's your ground. You REALLY needa make sure you have full metal to metal contact with the ground wire to the frame. People don't ever understand how important this is. I've completely fried an amp because of a bad ground.

I agree with eggy, again, what's the ohm of the subs? Can you give us a description of the wiring between the subs and the channels of the amp, too, please. Also, has this system worked consistently prior? Maybe in another car? Did you install it yourself/have you had experience before with amp/sub wiring? I really don't want to offend you by these questions, and I'm not at all doubting your knowledge, it's just for reference.

Rule out battery issues, my EX runs my 1000W amp no problem (wired with 4AWG also). So long as it was installed correctly it should be fine.
