UV LEDS & Fluorescent paint-(Night Pics)

finished it today, Uv leds with Fluorescent paint on the needles and red areas. Got the pics as close to real image as possible, this is what it really looks like when you are staring at it, or at least very close.

i really like how this turned out, especially because i felt that my blue leds behind the gauges were washing out the red area on the tac and fule/temp, now the red areas(now orange) are really bright and noticeable!!!

all i have left to do is adjust the tac led so it points more light at the far end of the needle.

Yeah! this is what i used exactly, but any UV led will work.

then i used these for behind the gauges: i never had good results with just replacing the bulbs so i soldered these in behind the gauge.

Update*
if your going to do this, make sure not only to cover the whole dial, but also seal up the sides with tape as well, after driving with it for a while i noticed that my numbers were not as blue, and the odometer and mileage were also showing up kinda orange, well when i sprayed the needles some of the pain floated in there and so they have a hint of orange to them. this really is not a problem, i dont mind it on the odometer and milage as you really dont notice it, but along the mph and rpm's its annoying, so im going to have to go back and sand it off of the back of the gauges. Also, i noticed that when i turn my headlights on, my dash lights flicker quite a bit. not sure how to fix this because of the dimmer, unless i do some crazy rewiring. maybe i need a new alternator? anyways just an update, i defiantly love having the needles fluoresce, you can get away with just putting red leds in the top, but its no where near as cool as what they are now.!!!!

I thought about doing this for all my gauges, (wiring new LEDs) because I bought replacement LEDs and it looks like crap.. ones brighter than the other and one likes to not always come on. I also somehow managed to break the bulb that lights up my needles so now I can't see one side of them.

did you just tap into the wiring ?

did you have to solder or anything?

I soldered EVERYTHING!!! lol. i am actually debating on getting a new gauge and cleaning a bunch of stuff up. in my instrument gauge, not including the indicator lights and stuff, i have no plug and play lights. everything on there i wired up myself and soldered to the back of the gauge. i have 4x5mm UV leds at the top pointing down onto the gauge, 1 for tack, 2 for speed, and 1 for gas/temp the only problem is that i think im drawing to much power for the wires, cuz when i turn on my headlights they flicker quite a bit. But i would defiantly suggest doing this mod man, it is way cool and looks ultra awesome.
the pictures dont really do it justice, its a really cool thing to look at.

Its really easy. and i was thinking the other day. if you still have the stock bulbs, then maybe you could just get some replacement ones. i mean, honda did a lot of work to make sure the gauges were illuminated properly, if you got the right leds and the correct bases i bet you could get plug and play UV leds to work just fine. the only problem would be finding a plug and play UV led. you can get plenty of component(single leds, not connected) leds, but i have never seen a plug and play UV. but soldering is not to hard. just type how to solder into google and you will be alright. i only just started soldering last summer and im pretty good at it i think. pm me if you need some help anytime.
