Hey guys,

so my current civic came with a gigantic light up bandpass box with two Dual brand subwoofers that takes up half the trunk and a sony xplod amp, I planned to just stick with them until I got other upgrades done battery/alternator stuff so that I could get a Orion HCCA sub and amp and not kill the car. But then last night I just decided to put the subs and amp up for sale and I have a guy coming tomorrow to get them

so now I am looking for a Single sub that I can just put in a small sized sealed box,

I have an amp thats been sitting in my cabinet for a few years from a truck build I did, it's an audiobahn A8000T and I plan to use it

here are the specs

400 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
800 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms
MOSFET power supply
two 30-amp fuses
50-120 Hz low-pass crossover, 18 dB/octave
variable bass boost (0-18 dB at 50 Hz)

anyone know of a good sub for $100 or less that I could push fine with that amp? I've always been one to buy 3 or 4 subs rather than just 1 really good one but now I want to conserve space. I know for $100 I wont get much but anything has to be better than these duals

Thanks guys

well, i need to know the size of the box lol

I don't have the box yet, I'm buying a box after I buy a sub. I'm going to buy a compact size box, not as small as a truck box but not oversized for a single

I don't want to sacrifice sound quality, but I also would like to use my trunk lol

RMS Power Output:
400 watts x 1 chan. @ 4 ohms
800 watts x 1 chan. @ 2 ohms

okay, sorry for all the questions

I'm trying to figure out how to upgrade my amp wiring without having to buy more

the amp wiring in the car is all set up However it is a smaller gauge wiring (I think 6)

the wiring I used before with this amp is 4 gauge but its cut to length for my old truck so theres not enough there to run in my civic, the specs on the amp say to use 4 gauge so I'm not sure what I should do. Really don't want to buy more and re run everything

but I don't want to use too small of a gauge ... meh

well I lied,

the amp wiring in the civic at the moment is only 8 gauge, so I really think it needs to go

I'm trying to think of a way I can extend the 4 gauge wire I already have, I'm about 3 feet short

any ideas?

3 feet short with it ran on the battery side or the other side?

In my '01 I ended up running it driver-side (the opposite of battery) only cause there was already a hole in the firewall that I could easily get to. That's like 4 feet alone.

Shortest distance between 2 points is a straight line, so try to get through your firewall as close to the battery side as possible, then run it straight in the runners to the trunk. If you have to, mount the amp upside down to get the power cables on the closest side, or mount it offset to the side of the box. Just keep pushing everything in the direction of the battery.

If that's what you've been doing and you're still 3 short, then I'm afraid to tell you you're gunna need more wire :P

whatever you do don't run the speaker wire along side your power wires unless there insulated against electrical interference.
