I still need help with my RAM problem!

I have 2 sticks, and they both work individually in both DIMM slots (only 2 slots), but not together! Wtf is going on?

My brother and I want to get into studio engineering / recording (we basically want to make our own beats, use mixers, etc.) and I know the requirements aren't all that high, but a good computer is still recommended.

this is kinda of off topic but if i spilled juice on my laptop keyboard, some of the keys are sticking, any way to clean that and unstick it?

My suggestion would be a lot of q-tips and rubbing alcohol. Just don't slam on the pads.

Most laptop keyboard keys can be taken off, but putting them back on can be a challenge. Your best bet would be as John said, Q-Tips and rubbing alcohol.

Using the onboard sound? What connections does the audio equipment have to hook up to a PC?

Sound I don't know about yet. My brother is doing the research now for all the equipment we're going to buy. I'll have to find out what kind of connections I need. We'll most likely be using an MPC, keyboard, mixer, and studio speakers.

I build my own computers because I feel more comfortable building one than buying one from a store. Plus I hate having to call (for example) Dell or Compaq for support or having to send the computer away if something goes wrong. If I build my own, I at least know it was put together properly, I can troubleshoot my own mistakes, take it apart and clean it, know what software went on it, etc. I like having more control over computers because they suck as is.

It's the fun of owning a PC, you can change parts without voiding a warranty because each part has its own, not the whole machine

Here is my issue. My main PC won't boot. Gets to the BIOS POST screen and sticks. I can't hit F12 for boot options to boot to CD, can't hit F2 for Bios Settings or DEL for something else to do with BIOS. It me messing around and reseating connections on the motherboard (power, RAM, HD) I got it to boot. It has since restarted and I got it to boot one other time but we lost power last night and turned the PC off so it wont boot again. I am tired of trying to boot it 15 times to get it to actually boot but once it does it runs fine. Motherboard going bad? PC is one I built 2 years ago this month.

You should get 2x4GB just in case you might want to upgrade later down the road.

Sounds like a sick build! I wanted to build an AMD comp strictly for gaming and porn.

Here's the cheap low budget one I just finished putting together:
- Intel E8500 (3.16Gh, Core 2 Duo)
- Foxconn G41MXE mobo
- 4GB DDR3 1333
- 500GB HDD
- GeForce GT430 DDR3 1GB
- 400W PSU

I spent roughly $370 on that setup and keeps me pretty content for now

Replace CMOS battery see if that fixes the issue.

No problem.

If that doesn't fix it, try reseating all the components, and check for wear and tear damage, shouldn't be any, but you never know.
