Supposedly, dancing is equal to picketing and terrorism.

I didn't get to listen to the audio, but I watched the video. I smell a nasty lawsuit for most of those arrested.

I do as well. This country is going to s**t. I mean come on, it's dancing. They're not hurting anyone.

I dont necessarily agree with the "punishment" given by security for their actions. But several of them got what they had coming, resisting is resisting. Even if they were being detained for "stupid" reasons.

Who resisted arrest? The only person who did any kind of resisting was the guy who tried to pull his friends arm away from the handcuffs. Everyone else pretty much turned around and put their hands behind their back while the cops were reaching for cuffs.

That guy mentioned and the other guy who got body slammed. He was asked to put his hands behind his back and refused as he kept walking. But in all honesty this whole situation seems weird if you ask me. Who honestly goes to a monument to just dance unless they're trying to prove a point about something or try and cause a commotion. Just the way they are acting makes me believe this isnt their first time causing "legal" controversy.

Thomas Jefferson was the person who gave us the freedom to dance, speak, etc. They went because a bill was passed saying that dancing is another form of protesting along with other things. So they went to show how stupid it is.

I dont necessarily that dancing is "protesting" or w/e the bill had stated. But on a side note would you wanna tour a national monument and see a bunch of protesting hippies pushing the limits of whats allowed?

Oh and btw this guy is such a role model, after being discharged from the military under "less then honorable" conditions for misconduct :nono:

I dont think dancing is protesting either. If I saw a bunch of hippies dancing, Id join in because I smoke just like them. lol. I don't like/know the guy but the whole thing about getting arrested(violently) for dancing and speaking my mind is just wrong.

It may have been excessive but hey he had it coming eventually as much as he's pushed the limits of right/wrong lol.

I hope the officers had fun because they won't be working as cops anytime soon.

If in fact that turns out to be true, this nation is ridiculous
They were arresting people who hadn't come close to committing any type of crime. I agree with you that it wasn't excessive force but there was still zero justification for any of those arrests in the first place. The officer who seemed to be in charge was obviously irritated about what was going on and took matters into his own hands. They should have stood to the side and watched to make sure there was no vandalism or actual crimes taking place and let them be until the memorial was closed. I have no idea what the protest was about but it doesn't make a difference, people have a right to peaceful protest. I don't know what the rules are regarding Parks Police but I didn't hear a single Miranda Rights either.

Power tripping mother f***ers.
That's exactly right. It looked like that one cop in the beginning of the video was the one in charge. Maybe some of the younger cops were only following orders and can keep their jobs but wow, that was bad.

I really wish I was a cop, so that I could body slam and choke people and not get in trouble for it.

After they were all detained they had them lined up on the ground, im guna have faith in the officers assuming they did that so they could read them their miranda rights. But another note yes it is a public place but if the security deems them to be causing a disturbance they have the right to remove them from the area. Same principle would go in other places, If your causing a disturbance in any public place the owner/authority has the right to ask you to leave or refuse service. Security decided that the dancing was a disturbance and obviously had asked them to leave, and obviously they hadn't. Security wouldnt have been that "agressive" if it was their first warning.
